I think Baker may have been one of those players that thought he could get more on the open market and when he realised everything is a bit tighter this year took Bristol’s low Ish offer so he didn’t have to bother moving.
Hopefully an indicator of where the market is moving. Players will want to start getting paid again come 1st July and get in with clubs for pre-season.

Can understand one keeper coming in as first choice and Wilson as number two but can't see the point of us spunking some of our budget on another 2 keepers

The only thing I can think of is Bilson going out on a season long loan, so need an extra one for between the sticks at under 23 level???

Regarding Sarkic, my Villa supporting pal says he was highly thought of at Villa but had too many keepers ahead of him. He reckons he’ll be a good signing if we do end up getting him in

I think Wilson is rated by the management but they want competition for him

Seems a bit odd given he's been here two years and only given a chance due to injury. He did alright when he came in but don't see what they see in a keeper his age. Looked a bit ropey at times and hardly instilled confidence.

Also don't see why we'd bring in two new if he's here and they rate him.

It is a little surprising but no doubt we will see what the plan is soon enough

Wouldn’t expect Mark Robins to be anything other than cautious in any statement or comment on our on going recruitment, he never has been different and hardly likely to be different time.

I did hear and this has apparently come from inside the club our interest in Matty Jame became luke warm from an early stage big reason being we could get two decent quality players in for what the James camp were after. I reckon his agent kept our apparent interest going to help the Bristol negotiations..

That makes sense as midfield is an area where we are covered ,more so with the years experience behind them now and more importantly get some back up to cover walker and godden.

Covered in what way ? James gone, Shipley, Allen, et al not good enough. We are not covered if your measure is quality.
