I'd be slightly disappointed with a loan. It's a position I'd much prefer to be a permanent player to give some stability. That said, if he's the best option I'm all for it. Wolves stockpiling players again.

They have an obscene amount of players on pro contracts, think it’s about 70.

If this ends up as our new keeper is it bad that i would be majorly disappointed?
It's one that is not a known name.
Would obviously come with some trepidation. I'd guess we have to trust the recruitment.
Big lad at 6,5. Worry that he has had a long term leg injury. (- not an ACL, so maybe we won't sign him!)
Westwood was mentioned too in the conversation I had last week. Got a feeling he may well be one of the "ex-players have been spoken to" rumours.

We know situations can change at clubs (as alluded to earlier regarding this lad) but it is interesting that this was mentioned last week and now the Telegraph has a story from the Wolves end.

Out of interest, who realistically, would not dissapoint you?

Confident lad & good presence, full International at a young age too. Good distribution & would certainly be a big change from our current pair as he likes to come & claim crosses too.

Did well at Shrewsbury but missed quite a lot of games with 2 separate injuries. The hamstring injury is not so much of a concern but the second one, the quad injury, is a known recurring issue according to Shrewsbury.

As others have said, I'd prefer a permanent keeper &, as he's highly thought of at Wolves, I don't see him being available after. That said, to me he's an affordable improvement on what we have so can't be too disappointed.

We'd be better off with marosi and Wilson than Westwood, he was awful for Wednesday last season

Question for people who frequent other clubs boards, are they as obsessed with ex players coming back as our fan base seem to be or is it another unique cov thing (like having two cathedrals)

I think a lot might depend on how Robins thinks Tom Billson will develop, I’ve never seen him play but he is now twenty so this is a big year for him. This lad from Wolves by all accounts played well at Shrewsbury eleven clean sheets in not the best team in division one seems pretty good to me had a bit of an injury issue so if we could get him on a twelve month loan to me makes sense and doubt he would cost an arm and a leg.

I’m sure most would , he is playing at a high level in the portugese liga Nos

It’s a muddling league as the big 3 pull so far clear. Benfica, Porto and Sporting would compete in the Premier League. The team he plays for finished 7th, would have a guess with the English players they’ve got that it’s League 1 standard

Must be pretty average standard a couple of players in that team have played for Cheltenham before going there - one Grimsby

Yeah, it’s like the SPL, got the top teams who are so far ahead of the rest. Only once has it been won by a team outside of the big 3 I mentioned in the last 70 years

He has a €50 million release clause according to wiki...

People have gone mental for Lameiras after it was reported he has a massive buy out clause but they are a standard part of the contract over there and the clubs always cover themselves by putting everybody on a massive fee.

I went to see Benfica play a season back. They don't touch each other ...basically a non contact sport. He would get killed in the championship
