The current system suits me as i've got a decent number of points, i can see that it may risk creating a bit of a 'closed shop' though, especially if we go up. I think if the club were to consider a ballot system it'd need to be a relatively small number of the overall allocation so as to not unduly penalise people who have racked up alot of games. That said, I doubt the club likely to look at this any time soon as they'll have a million and one other priorities (especially if we go up) and the current system does seem to work relatively well at present.

That's it. Midweek games are 20 points. Also, the Burton game had extra points.
I went Burton for the Bristol game....did we get points for that? Great sunny day...just down the road for a random game....I only went for a laugh tbh. Didn't want us progressing in that cup as I said I wanted us to concentrate on the league!!!

Yes, we got 20 points for that one.

You know, I think we may have got 20. Or even 40. Will have to check.

Irrespective of Saturday’s result, do we think the club will introduce random balloting for a specific number of away tickets for next season? I know some clubs do this to ensure others who want to build up loyalty points have a chance to do so.

I bought a house this season so didn’t renew my ST for the first time, so I’m on 600 odd points with the renewal. Clearly a bad call with bad timing now, but hoping a fair system is established that rightfully prioritises those who’ve committed all their time to going to the most games but then also giving opportunities to lifelong fans who are still on a decent enough amount of points in recent times but will struggle for away tickets if we go up a league or continue to challenge next season.

Don’t quite see how those supporters, like myself, can improve their situation if the current system remains, as the cut off point is only going to continue to rise.

Thoughts?
Disagree with random balloting, that sort of thing belongs to clubs with thousands of daytrippers to exploit. I'm not sure there has really been any issue with getting hold of tickets this season regardless of how many points you have.

QPR (London Pissup), Blackpool (Seaside Pissup - we haven't played them on a Saturday for a while), Middlesbrough (last game of the season).

Those games were always going to be difficult to get tickets to. There are loads of others that could have been used to get points. In regards to away tickets, I'm secretly dreading if we get promoted. I'll have a tad over 800 points next season, I accept I'll be very lucky to get to any away games next year. That's life.

EDIT: I won't stop me begging if the time comes though... ;)
My point is I have the points but never get a ticket . And what pissed me off was I managed to get a Blackpool ticket off a friend who couldn’t make it for personal reasons. And the 2 lads sat next to me got there’s through a supporters club without having any points or a season ticket to their name !!!

50 points in total were given for the game at Burton. 20 for the original purchase for CBSA, 20 for it being at Burton and 10 as compensation!

Ah, is this why people keep going on about Leamington and Warwick?

I found out, quite recently, that a lad I know says he's guaranteed away tickets through the supporters club he's in, which he lives nowhere near.
I won't say which one but it's not the farmers.

However, does this mean they get a privileged allocation or do they network all members who have then have to have the same required points criteria as the rest of us and there's always enough tickets to satisfy demand, (e.g 20 members in the club, but only 10 are travelling).

I know which one you are referring to. Have got tickets through them before despite living nowhere near. They give you a deadline to express interest and then they pre book the number they want. Least they did a few years back.

I bought tickets for the first 3 games on that list with a similar amount of points to you with no issues. The other 3 I couldn’t make, pretty sure that the Blackpool and Millwall games went quite a way down the points list.
I think Reading must have been an easy one to get tickets for too as I managed to buy them with my paltry <1000 points, I also wasn't on at the crack of 1000hrs

ThisThis sounds like you're not actually in the top bracket

I should probably be in the top bracket for most games next year but I just believe in fairness. Some huge fans just simply can’t afford to get to every away game even though they would sacrifice anything to. They should have the opportunity to go to the few games they can afford to.

It should obviously be stacked heavily in the favour of the big pointers but not exclusively is my opinion.

Wasn't it 20x2 or something?

Edit: did we get have to pay for the tickets twice due to some fuck up or other entirely in keeping with the start to the season?

Quite probably, with the pitch issues I likely delayed buying mine, which is why I only got 20. Anyway, I’ve no issue with that, that’s all I’d have expected for a cup match. After that match who’d have thought we’d be here now, just 4 days away from the playoff final?!

I get that, kind if agree and am sympathetic. I'm also sure I'll be fine regardless, but what about those who are in the next bracket? The ones trying to attain higher and building up points but can't get to every game despite being committed. They're the ones you're excluding which are the ones on eg 700 - 800 points that constantly try and can't always get them and currently miss some popular allocations.

There is no perfect solution but for now this works well. If we become established and its not just a one season wonder we might need a rethink, but to deny tickets in our likely only top flight season to those who have put the miles up and down the country for much less attractive games would be grossly unfair.

It would also increase the gulf between the top point holders and those trying to get there, so in many ways actually increase the advantage to the top points which defeats the objective I believe.

As per my earlier post. You qualified for tickets for all the games you mentioned.

That’s right, they took the money twice. I had two debits and one credit transaction and 2 x 20 points in August. Plus an extra 10 points were credited on 27th September as follows:
“You have +10 loyalty points awarded forDouble Refunds: Bristol City - Carabao Cup”

Talking to someone in England supporters club how the deal with away tickets.

apparently 70% of tickets go based on points & 30% into a ballot.
It used to be 80% & 20% but stopped being a member after the 2006 WC. Thinking of joining again now the kids are older.

COVID season?

Points available at the moment are 270 for 19/20, 300 for 20/21 (Covid), 230 for 21/22, and 230 for 22/23. So if he only has 600 points then 2 out of the last 4 seasons must have been missed.
