The alternative renders Simms redundant. On balance perhaps it's best to be defensively solid?Problem with 5 at the back is it renders EMC and Sakamoto as redundant, and with no Rudoni they're our two best attackers at the moment.
We seem way too enamoured with playing in a style that is hypothetically great rather than one which suits the players we have available.Problem with 5 at the back is it renders EMC and Sakamoto as redundant, and with no Rudoni they're our two best attackers at the moment.
Don’t need to change it. Just need a left back in the game and a fit left sided attacker
We played 5 at the back today. Grimes was holding hands with Thomas and Kitching all game....
Most of them results came with 5 at the backWe've won 9 out of the last 11 games. Don't think we should overreact to one poor result.
Would drop eccles and wright, torp alongside Grimes and play emc and sakamoto off/wide of SimmsDefinitely think it's worth giving a go. Doesn't really suit Saka and EMC though.
Dovin
Thomas Lati/Binks Kitching
MvE Grimes Eccles Dasilva
Torp
Simms Wright?
Eccles isnt naturally a number 8/10 but he tries his heart out and tries to play on the front foot .playing without Rudoni means Grimes has more to do, and we can’t rely on only him to drop in and also create
Eccles I though had a good game today, and Torp was ok, but neither really did anything stand out, with Rudoni back it will be all good
Didn't look his normal self, he's never been that shit before. He has to be taken out of the squad to find his formI understood Wright starting as it was reported that EMC had a knock but Bidwell coming on for DaSilva who had a very good game Saturday was bizarre .
No need for a change of formation just play players in form . That's two substandard performances in a row from the usually reliable Bidwell
There is zero organisation going on between Dovin, Thomas and Kitching when it comes to set pieces/crosses.Does it really matter how many are in defence if your goalkeeper will throw them in from set pieces?
I imagine not if there's two keepers on the pitch! There is zero organisation going on between Dovin, Collins and Kitching when it comes to set pieces/crosses.
Eccles ?So what is he? He’s got ability but needs to find a position soon
I don’t know why I keep getting Thomas and Collins mixed up, it’s been nearly two years nowI imagine not if there's two keepers on the pitch!
Stop giving up silly free kicks first and foremostRather than changing the formation I would simply ask the defenders to stop giving up easy goals.
It's a minimal trade offIn this run
Back 5 -
P7 W6 D0 L1 GF10 GA 5
- 4 clean sheets
- 1.43 goals per game scored
- 0.72 goals per game conceded.
Back 4 -
P4 W3 D0 L1 GF8 GA 7
- 0 clean sheets
- 2 goals per game scored
- 1.75 goals per game conceded
It's a minimal trade off
What run ?Not when we going into this run.
That's too deep for Sky Blues TalkWith success comes expectation. I’d rather be disappointed than ambivalent
But still much better than Wright which is the worryDovin needs to cone off his line and clear everyone out to claim set pieces. I'd also be tempted to bring Allen in for Eccles, but if we assume Dasilva coming back in too, that leaves us very small so maybe we do need another CB for a bit more height. It would also mean having to keep Simms playing which looks unthinkable after tonight where he looked like a raffle winner.
