Think majority of the forum agreed we needed to improve on him to progress.Speak for yourself. I was always in favour of renewing and his last few games last season proved that was the right decision

Of course he will be captain why wouldnt he be?It's debatable whether he will or should be captain next season - I imagine he'll spend most of his time on the bench.
Tremendous news. The grass is always greener elsewhereOnly city fans could be underwhelmed that the captain has signed a new contract
Because he's not going to be a first team regular.Of course he will be captain why wouldnt he be?
We made a play off final with him in the teamThink majority of the forum agreed we needed to improve on him to progress.
And he wasnt this year whats your point?Because he's not going to be a first team regular.
Which of the other teams from the playoffs last season or those aiming for promotion next season do you reckon would sign him?We made a play off final with him in the team
I don't think Newcastle fans would be overwhelmed if Jamal Lascelles signed a new contract, likewise with Spurs and Lloris. Sometimes a club outgrows an aging player. I can't say I am overly disappointed but it's hardly one to pop champagne overOnly city fans could be underwhelmed that the captain has signed a new contract
We’ve just come out of a traumatic relationship with one owner… the new one is yet to prove he’s any different
Other teams in that position have similar players in their squads. Of course he isnt at the level of Sheaf or Hamer but then we arent going to have a squad full of first choices are we?Which of the other teams from the playoffs last season or those aiming for promotion next season do you reckon would sign him?

I don’t mind the contract extensionOther teams in that position have similar players in their squads. Of course he isnt at the level of Sheaf or Hamer but then we arent going to have a squad full of first choices are we?
Might as well get Jack Grimmer back as well then.
I'm not one to read too much into things, but this to me says Hamer out, Doyle back in
Should give Peter Vincenti a ringMight as well get Jack Grimmer back as well then.
Tbf we get 9 subs on the bench next season and CM I would say is genuinely the only single position on the pitch we don't really need to be looking at. With that in mind it's just a case of 'he'll do'Which of the other teams from the playoffs last season or those aiming for promotion next season do you reckon would sign him?
Given the shitstorm the rumours have caused I think it should be.Those who know, know.
Starting pre-season with one centre back, yikesLooks like thats all she wrote today...
I mean its justified now why people are getting concerned...Starting pre-season with one centre back, yikes
*1 CB, RB and 1 strikerI mean its justified now why people are getting concerned...
Is it though? Not like it isn't commonplace for the majority of signings to come later on. Vast majority of EFL clubs in the same boat.I mean its justified now why people are getting concerned...
Got a great live feed of paint drying if anyone's interested: Link hereNew "Grass-Cam" installed at Ryton, so we can watch the blades journey from seed to first cut.
