9,500 tickets sold JPT Crewe (1 Viewer)

ST holders have till the close of play Wednesday to reserve their seats, so if you haven't got a ticket yet, might be worth waiting until Wednesday evening because a couple of thousand seats will become available in the more popular areas of the ground. That's what people I know are planning, because at the moment you can barely get a seat in blocks 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21 and 22.

Exactly, if Spurs and Arsenal can move thousands for us in the cup, I am sure we could move a couple of hundred!

The best you can hope for is away fans in 7,8 and open up 10,11,12,13 & 14 to city fans

I think that's right (i.e will happen if demand is there) but the other option is feasible. Crewe seem convinced they won't sell more than 1200-1300, so I am sure we'd open up those blocks if needed.

I doubt they would want the Crewe fans entering through the atrium and reception and funnelling down to the corner past all the corporate lounges, its just not really practical. We may revert to that 07-08 seating option which should be enough.

With regards to the away game at crewe, can't see Crewe filling their ground but heard that we are only getting 2,300 and once they are gone that's it. Reckon we could easily take 4k

Very good point and the final nail in the coffin to that idea i would suggest. Turnstile access for 1,2,3,4 is via the JSB corner of the telegraph stand.. wouldnt work?

That is 2 sides of their ground though, unrealistic to expect more. We'd could sell a lot more than 4k for this. The 2300 will sell tomorrow morning in under 2 hours I reckon.

Think a lot of fans will go and buy them from Crewe! Bit like when Man Utd used to play at ours - their Fans were everywhere. Dont see a problem if we want to go and watch - wouldnt be surprised if they have cash turnstiles on the day!

Apparently we have Fans in cars with sleeping bags and flasks outside the Ricoh now (Sunday 10pm) waiting to snap up Crewe Away tickets! :claping hands:

Anybody know how long ST holders have to claim their seats? I am trying to buy 5 together and I can't find more than 1 isolated seat apart from the first 6 rows in blocks 15-19.

Good idea...Done

"Dear Sir/Madam.

With regard to the Crewe home fixture in the JPT- and with only 1000-1500 Crewe fans expected is it not reasonable to consider selling blocks 6,7 and 8 to Crewe fans and then selling tickets to CCFC fans in 10,11,12,13,14. This would leave 1 block(9) as a safety zone- allow CCFC fans more of a ticket allocation and if, as we are led to believe all too often by the '12th man' cliche re the importance of home fans, would see CCFC supporters behind the goal at both end of the ground. This I would assume is a low risk category game. Please consider this.

As a general notion quite why CCFC continue to employ the barren nature of blocks 9,10, 11 etc for league games mystify's me. Accepting lower attendances- surely some CCFC fans behind both goals for all games is better than the barren landscape which all to often greets Marks men as they kick toward the south stand? As a CCFC travelling fan I can think of many grounds where we the sky blue faithful are displaced to a corner, with a less than clear view, whilst home fans reside favourably seated. Its time to make our advantage pay!

chances of a reply.....?

In all fairness- the club have responded so my cynical question not justified- public apology due- Sorry CCFC- I do wonder though if Block 15' ers would move over to be behind the goal and increase the "banter" with opposition fans?

Hi @@@@

Thanks for your email, I had read your post on Sky Blues Talk yesterday so please feel free to post the response back up.

In the initial stages we have to offer Crewe 15% of the stadium to sell but if they don’t take these, which it doesn’t look like they will , then we would look at opening more of the ground for home fans should the demand for tickets be there.

As with all games, due to the additional costs incurred when opening these blocks, they will only go on sale once the other areas of the stadium are filled but I sincerely hope that this is the case. As I’m sure you know, we have unsuccessfully tried to open that area to home fans permanently before but for a number of reasons we were forced to close it. The number of fans that wanted to move into that area wasn’t as big as we thought it would be either.

I can assure that even before this game went on sale we have discussed opening that area of the ground once we have sold the required number of tickets and we will should the demand dictate we do.

Best Regards

You also said 4-4-2 wouldn't work.. and yet it brought us 2 goals on Saturday....well 4-4-1-1;)

It doesn't work, we scored 2 fair enough, but I thought we were a lot more open (they had better chances when we went to 4-4-2) and we lost our edge in passing department, which is probably why we ended up with less possession than Oldham at FT (I don't know the breakdown so I'm not going to pass it as fact), Clarke had a pretty bad game, so I feel that's why we didn't score with 1 striker, when we went to 4-4-2 he didn't play better, whereas Elliott played well, so I think we should play Elliott on his own v PNE.

Also, some people have said Moussa is 'wasted' on the wing, he got his assist, a quality one at that, on the wing. Moussa should play LM next game, I haven't been entirely convinced with him at CAM lately.

yeah I'm with you.. only Joshing given our previous debates.!!
I agree that when we went 4-4-1-1 the lack of a midfield holding/screen in front of Edge and Woody exposed them and we did struggle.. equally I think Clarke genuinely needs a partner to run off and for him. There isn't an easy answer, unless we field 12 players!!

I'm not sure if Clarke needs a strike partner in all honesty, because as I said, he didn't play no better when we went 4-4-2, also, I think Clarke and the team need to 'gel', we looked fluent going forward in the 1st half and played some pleasing football, but, in the final 3rd, nothing of real note, bar Fleck's and Christie's half-chances. McSheff nearly put in a peach of a pass to Clarke in the box (SIDENOTE: it was nearly awesome, and had it have been attempted by Fleck or Barton, they would've got criticised IMO, but I suppose everyone has their favourites), in the 2nd half, we were worse, and we got lucky if I'm honest, although a draw would've been an injustice (Dickov's comments only have validity from the equaliser tbh).
