Just read this ( http://www.coventrycity-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/injured_swanson_playing_on_836221/index.shtml? )

New Coventry City player Danny Swanson has revealed that he is training despite having ankle ligament damage. The winger, suffered the damage in a tackle from Callum Wilson in City's 1-0 loss at Peterborough United back in August.
Swanson has not had the proper rehabilitation and has been forced to sit out some of City's training sessions and he told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “I’ve just been taking it easy in my first week back.
“I tore the two ligaments at the back and one at the front – I didn’t think it was a big problem at the time and I tried to play on but when we got the scan back it showed it was pretty bad.
“But it’s all right now. I never really had any rehab because we were pushing for the play-offs, so as soon as I stopped feeling it I just trained and then played on the Saturday.”

Does this worry anyone else? Surely we should be getting him checked out if he's already missing training? And haven't a couple of the others also missed long periods with injury recently?

Coulibaly had niggles all last season ( http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/10920035.AFC_Bournemouth__Coulibaly_close_to_return/ )

Reda Johnson had a foot injury at the end of last season ( http://www.teamtalk.com/championshi...Wednesday-defender-Reda-Johnson-eyes-new-club )

O'Brien missed the end of last season with a knee injury ( https://footballbingo.footballbuster.com/barnsley-lose-jim-obrien-injury )

Is it a bit risky having so many new signings all coming back from, or possibly still suffering from, long term injuries?

Yes, it's bit worrying, we had more than our fair share of sick notes, let's hope that he'll be ready for the start of the season and manage to play for the majority of the season.

Possibly the only reason we got to sign them? Why Coventry City i keep asking myself, maybe because we are that desperate we will take players that other clubs refuse to take a risk on.

Football threads are overrated!

But yes, it is. I remember Benitez boasting they'd signed Aquilani cheap because he'd been injured - worked out well for them...

Agree totally very risky and also the age of these players there are unlikely to lead to big transfer fees. I can understand players wanting to come on loan to enhance their career prospects but as we stand we are a bottom half team who will skirt with relegation.

It's a bit risky to buy players who are injured but that's the situation we're in.

Agreed, and the quality seems to be such that if they stay fit they'll all be good signings.

I guess with Pressleys fitness campaign pre season we should know soon enough as well.

Was just an interesting pattern I thought.
