A host of Championship and League One sides are eyeing a move for Coventry City winger Mark Marshall, Sky Sports understands.

Marshall has been a revelation at Coventry since joining them as a free agent in February after two years away from the game.

The skilful wide-man has been a stand-out performer for Steven Pressley's side with seven assists in 13 games for the Sky Blues and he also picked up the man-of-the-match award in last weekend's draw with champions Wolves.

Marshall's short-term deal at Coventry expires next week and his availability as a free agent has alerted a host of Championship and League One sides.
Coventry are keen to tie down Marshall to a new deal, but they may struggle to match offers elsewhere, with Millwall thought to be amongst the clubs interested in Marshall.

I think marshall wants to stay. Fans have really warmed to him but money could do the talking

How much will he expect ??

More than he's on now, that's for sure.

In the 'good ol days', he would've rewarded our faith him after his misdemeanour and signed with us without hesitation. Unfortunately, bar Giggs/Gerrard, there's not much loyalty about any more.

Here's hoping though.....

Not sure the name Giggs and loyalty can be mentioned in the same sentence, ask his brother

I hope Marshall stays. He was great in most of the games I saw him in. The first few he had to come off with cramp but once his fitness improved then so did his performances. Hoping (not holding my breath) that he will repay our faith in him by showing some loyalty.

+1 to all of that.

A host of clubs, no club named, a story planted by the agent to hurry negotiations along here. 7 assists is a decent return across a season. As for him struggling to get into a struggling side, he has played far more than I thought he might considering he has not played for 2 years.

Yes, considering the two year "break" his fitness levels have been pretty good.

He will no doubt go to the highest bidder. City have served their purpose in getting him match fit and giving him a shop window in which to display his wares. Loyalty is not relevant, such is the way of the world.

7 assists in 12 games is a bloody impressive stat.

Bakary Sako and Dean Cox, arguably two of the best players in the league, have 13 and 12 respectively across the whole season.

I agree SBS,this is likely to be an agent planting a story.I have only seen him once at Pboro and wasnt that impressed--thought he was too small and not strong enough.Quite amusing watching him trying to header a ball against bigger stronger lads

Doubt he'd leave, but only if money is impossible to refuse but he is a great player so I do understand maybe clubs looking at him. Don't think he will leave. He really loves it here as the fans like him a lot as well. Also I dont think he would start in a club in the championship. :blue:

Hope he stays hes an exellent player with great work ethic. Doubt he would win a place in the starting 11 of a championship clun but money could lure him over...

Get rid of Baker!? Bakers one of our finest! :thinking about:

I wouldn't get rid of baker. Can be frustrating but has a good heart and can win matches

Depends on how much bakers getting paid, if he's really on £8k per week then we could get 3 very good league one players in for that (league one ave wage £1.5k pw)

Are we an average league 1 club then?

I think It's around £4K at most ,him and Bell done at the same time ,can't be certain though, just something I seem to recollect when Deluded was doing the signings.

The league table suggests so......;)

But even if I wanted to be pedantic £8k / 3 = £2,666.67 per week which is around 75% higher than The league one average wage, so me saying (if baker is on £8k pw, probably bollocks) that you could get 3 good league one players no mention of average...

I suspect you're right, but can only go with what's been put in the media...even if it is the Daily Mail!!!
