I expect abuse for this suggestion,yes it maybe "pie in the sky", but here goes.

The Football League.

Following the JR decision and the findings of the Judge, the FL must surely agree these are exceptional circumstances and maybe time for them to consider taking the bull by the horns. If another club was formed ie Coventry City Football Club (2014) Limited was formed and financial backing was in place, would the FL consider transfering he Golden Share to the new club and allow it to continue it's membership of the FL ? Before I am jumped on, this happened with Crystal Palace a few seasons ago when the Golden Share was transferred to a newly formed club.. herefore a precedent has been created. As I pointed out, this may be a ridiculous idea, but the FL should now surely accept that CCFC circumastances are exceptional and exceptional actions may be considered.

I don't know the details but it's all on Wikipedia -new club formed in 2010.....our circumstances my be different, but our circumstances are noe exceptional following the JR decision.

Well... to clarify, it was a continuation of the past effort rather than a new club.

New clubs do not find themselves in the league, there is no precedent for that. The only precedent is the continuation of past entities in revised forms.

VOR, go for it.
Carefully thought out, worded and with backing from business and supporters it could be a possibility.
CCFC are in an ever growing hole. This could be a way out.
I'm sure the FL want Sisu gone.
The court case has given us definitive proof of their wrongdoings. They are not fit and proper.
Without the Golden share Sisu are nothing.
I say - run with this.

By the look of it the academy is the only value in the club and that is half financed by the FA I believe.
Ryton facilities equivalent are already at Higgs perhaps with further use of waste ground there in future.
Players could be found from whats left, unkown or unwanted (Plagiarised from the original CCFC).
Players wages would be paid directly from income at Ricoh.

I agree with you, but CCFC circumstances are exceptional and exceptional decisions might well be considered by the FL as a result of the High Court findings (which the FL are aware of bcause I sent them a copy!). Let CCFC create the precedent in the same way the Scottish League did with Rangers who were allowed to contine membership, albeit in division 3. My feelings are the the FL must now find itself in an embarassing position having to justify it's continuing to condone SUSU'S miss-management and, in particular, they sanctioned a move to Sixfields when there was no reason to justify this.

Other than Franchise FC of course (their badge has 2003 on it). I fear Franchise 2 is happening here in the town I live in...but we don't need or want it!

This isn't a realistic way of getting ccfc back to the Ricoh.

(In no way am I being negative or unsupportive as any ideas are gladly welcome but this isn't realistic so what is the point to it)

I like the FL approach but even then they have proved more than enough to show to no remorse or action to be taken so again its not realistic.

Exactly like that. There is no reason the FL couldn't take the GS off Otium for failure to meet their regulations on ground shares and hand it to a new company.

No continuation there, my understanding is they handed all the Wimbledon history back and everything. Surely MK Dons is a new club?

Yes I would.

Firstly the FL wouldn't allow it after the crap over MK Dons and with the Government looking for an excuse to legislate, so it's a non-starter.

Secondly, it would go against the terms of the GS transfer last summer and would result in the losing their place in the league.

And thirdly, and most importantly, there is literally no-where better than Coventry to start a league team. There is no other City of that size that would produce more fans. MK was always different as a new town.

It's a stupid idea.

A long time ago I know, but Leeds Utd were simply given a football league place after Leeds City left the league.

It seems stupid to play home games 35 miles away but SISU chose that.

If they could get some prime real estate near Birmingham do you think they wouldn't create a new franchise there? Big catchment area. Bigger than Cov. And all the hotels, entertainment etc as well as "Coventry Brummies" FC...they'd love it. As would their investors.

And no, I doubt the FL would stop them.

Of course it is stupid.. but technically it is classed as a temporary groundshare, which the FL have allowed on several occasions to different club.

If a franchise club was to be created it would have to begin a lot further down the football pyramid, and certainly would not get CCFC's place in the league.

Despair at the position our club is in is one thing.. coming up with this nonsensical rubbish is another.

They did that *after* they kept their league place.

The company remained a continuation, the club not.

Wishful thinking won't change the precedents. If we were to have a totally different entity become Coventry City, we would *become* the precedent.

Port Vale took over Leeds City's fixtures and place.

Notwithstanding that, various rules have been changed since then. See also Bristol City for that matter. These rules have been changed to stop a completely different entity rocking up. The only way we will keep a league place is if some continuation with the current entity can be found.

In effect what you're also asking for is franchising.

Don;t like the way Shrewsbury run their club? Get the Hereford former chairman to set up a new club, call it Shrewsbury and take over their league place!

Not quite.

It's saying to Sisu: "This Golden Share is for a team representing Coventry City. You are currently not doing that and with no good reason. You have until x time to return to the Coventry area or we will remove the GS for breach on contract and open bidding for someone to run the team in the Coventry area."

Of course, currently the argument is "but we're building a ground" and there's not a lot you can do about that. Once the FL sanctioned this madness there's no going back.

Dadgad, us CCFC fans have almost sleptwalked through this Sixfields debacle. VOR has come up with something.
It's an alternative to the strategic alternative club I and a few others have suggested, as a plan to show Sisu they aren't the only game in town.
Of course there may be legal hurdles to jump. I say investigate VOR's proposal. There are plenty of business people who will get behind the club if it begins to look possible.
Don't let the faint hearted put us off, those who want to discuss it on here forever and a day and then nothing gets done.
I think it is a possibility.

I am certain it is within football league rules to act as they deem fit due to extenuating circumstances which is pretty well an open book. I am also certain this will have been looked into by people with the clout to do something if able, having said that it has to be a scenario worth looking at. I still firmly believe our future existence is more threatened than people realise.

Rupert, spot on. We are in danger of going out of existence. Sure, a new club would be formed. But we've got to be more proactive as supporters. Sisu are nothing without that Golden share. Nothing without supporters.

The club will drop out of the league if the league deem them to have breeched regulations, or if a new entity separate to the current effort is formed.

There is of course the option of taking over the current entity for the right deal.

Nail on the head. The FL have already sanctioned this madness, they won't do a u-turn unless sisu don't meet the deadlines that were agreed to.

I have emailed the FL enquiring about the possibilities as there are now exceptional circumstances and the High Court Ruling regarding SISU'S ownership. One can but ask !

Fair play to you VOR. Writing to the FL is something we should all be doing on a regular basis.

A bit like Tim Robbins character in the Shawshank Redemption.

It's a lot easier for them to ignore the plight of the fans if we're not trying to engage with them.

They might and probably will ignore them anyway but one thing for certain, do nothing and nothing changes.

I'd rather do something than nothing ! I fully expect the FL not to reply to my email or fob me off with it's standard reply. However, at least doing something is better than sitting down doing nothing and moaning about it ! I urge all of you to keep emailing the FL - flood them, they need to know we care.
