A move outside Coventry ... (1 Viewer)

Would you accept a move outside the City (eg back to Northampton or perhaps Walsall etc) if there was a definite timescale, an agreed plan and the council, CRFC or whoever needed had sealed approval and consent to expand the Butts to a suitable size and the building work commenced before we leave?

I never supported the move to Northampton before. Not only hacked off with SISU, but the council, the FL and everyone associated - I also believed acceptance would result in no return. However, if the blocks were already in place I would be more inclined to travel than be held to ransom by Wasps draining extortionate resource just for the sake of staying in the City boundaries. Would you?

I'd accept it if those things were in place. Saying that I went to Sixfields the first time around, but would have to see some action/movement first this time.

If it was all agreed and building had started I'd accept it, maybe. But I wouldn't go.

Nope.

Think there would be even less travel to Northampton than last time and as has already been said, I wouldn't trust them to come back. You have to remember that a 12,000 seater stadium would be for Cov rugby anyway.

Would expect some JR2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or kegal kuffufle will ruffle more feathers and we might well get more 'we won't deal with Sisu' quips, so it is an emphatic no from me.

Depends where, when, how long, what else is going on etc.

Too hard to say yes or no without the circumstances being known.

would accept it if I knew it was definitely going to happen but wouldn't go to watch while outside Cov.

My bet is Wasps will buy us? Why else haven't they changed the colour of the seats....yet!!

I'm no accountant, but I reckon that if your financial figures for the year aren't quite as good as expected and you have a bond payout looming then you probably don't want to buy the countrys worst run football team.

If all signed and sealed, and there was proof that it was definitely going to happen, and it meant the clubs future was brighter then I would consider supporting it. Not sure if I would go or not, and I would wish for anything but this to happen.

If Wasps went tits up we would still have to fork out what the Ricoh is worth or something in the region of that and Sisu are never going to stump up the money. Also it needs two teams playing there to keep the place open unless we made it to the promised land. So lets hope we can strike a shared deal and stop the legals.

It would be worth very little as would return to the original leasehold agreement

what makes you say that COAB? I've often read on here that wasps don't need us. OK, they could get another tenant, but even with crowds as poor as they are, not many sports teams pull 7-8,000.

No . however , I suspect CCFC will remain at the Ricoh and , sisu will depart .

I would be happy to see it happen. At least we would see our club taking a step forward after falling back for years. And under these circumstances I would consider going to a game to see if it felt right.

The problem I had last time we moved to Northampton was the fact that our owners put zero effort into finding a solution for us to say and every effort into making sure we went. It was a set up and quite frankly a deliberate piss take. If the circumstances surrounding us going to Northampton last time were different (i.e. we actually were kicked out) I'd probably have gone.

So I guess what I'm saying is it would have to depend on the circumstances at the time. If wasps refused point blank to discuss a short term deal while any new stadium was being developed then yes I probably would. If it was our owners unwillingly to do the discussing then I probably wouldn't.
