A testament to Elvis (1 Viewer)

With the players that have came in, it is off great testament to pressley that other managers recognise what a great job he's doing. The players that have came in could easily cut it in the championship.

I think that you are right. Other clubs will be looking to see how their asset will benefit from a loan agreement. SP has demonstrated that he can get players who have historically underperformed to shine. They will see that as a good attribute when loaning out future potential stars.

we play a good modern brand of football and if you are a club with younger players that you want to improve, then you could do a lot worse, even in the championship i might add.

delfouneso said one of the main factors to him joining was pressleys attitude and way he went about the loan move.

He is such a good manager I worry about the summer when managers move around

I agree, losing players to other clubs I can just about handle, losing pressley would be a absolute disaster.... Never thought I'd be saying that when he arrived but I'll eat humble pie.

It looks like we have got 3 great players in on loan today, players that were wanted by Championship clubs but have come to us, here's to beating wolves in the Play Off's !

i like pressley , i think he is potentialy the best manager we have had in the last 15 years , his brand of football , his passion his determination to do well is pleasing and a change from the rubbish we have put up with in recent years , backed correctly and given a budget to match this guy would take us to the premiership im sure , but he isnt so he will just continue to do his best

Do we have to call him Elvis? Its fucking embarrassing.

I'm with you on this one Lee..must admit I do cringe at any time I see the 'Elvis' shout (I just cringed writing it). Is this something he has been affiliated with in his entire career or has some bright spark down here cottoned on that he shares his name with a musical great of the past and everyone else has jumped on the bandwagon?

If this is the case, I am going to start calling Carl Baker 'Danny' after the English comedian/journalist, and Joe Murphy 'Eddie' after that well known actor in The Nutty Professor.

Pressley has done a truly remarkable job in the circumstances - bringing through youngsters, reinvigorating players whose career appeared to be on the wane, playing good football and popular with fans who are otherwise hostile to those in charge. Unfortunately, I cannot see him being with us next season unless things change.

What sort of a close season does he have to look forward to? He is likely to be spending it recruiting the nucleus of an entire new squad and on a very limited budget. What, in fact, will he have this season if the play-offs become unrealistic?
Most managers in that position would be planning and shaping a team for next season. That won't be easy when most of his players are either loans or out of contract in the summer.

Whoever is promoted this season, come the summer there will still be a number of ambitious Championship clubs (Derby, Forest, Leeds, Middlesborough) who are likely to be joined by clubs like West Ham, Stoke or West Brom. I wouldn't bet against any of those thinking that SP is capable of making the step up and making him an offer he can't refuse. If that were to happen then, as far as I am concerned, Pressley would be able to leave with his head held high

Given the choice of;

Leon Clarke or Delfoneuso / Donnelly / McGeouch this is looking a VERY good window SO FAR. Just hope we can keep Moussa and Christie for the rest of the season and with Wilson back in a month or so we could still take this season to the wire.

I echo the comments on Pressley how on earth some fans have been slagging him off online and on the radio is beyond me.
He is doing a great job under shitty circumstances and long may he stay here.If the loans pay off we'll be forgot about Clarke, but I notice no defenders have come in as yet which means he's happy with what we've got.still he's the boss so all power to him !

Sorry, but what do you expect considering the run we've been on, culminating in a home defeat by a mid table conference north team. I think fans may have a right to have a change of heart.

This thread is also dated when we were playing well, scoring for fun and playing exciting attacking football.....

I don't know who that "Neutral" is, but he lurks on here a lot :thinking about:
