It ain't broke don't fix it! Settled side and unbeaten, why on earth would you tinker with that? Good options on the bench to change it up at the correct time.

Normally I’d adapt that policy myself but we might need to change something anyway if Bakayoko is unavailable.

You got to look at each game gone by and your next game coming, who the opponents are, how they play and go to counter. Bayliss hasn’t been at the races again for the last few weeks alongside Kelly so I’d make that change with him potentially in a more advanced role going to Accrington where we know the pitch won’t be great looking at the forecast, the opposition will look to bully us so it’s a good fit to have a more competitive pair looking to bring the best out of the front 4 in a bid to win the midfield which we needed to be better at Luton doing.

Yeah it's back to being shitty today. If I remember their pitch isn't the best either so back to a boggy mess :(

Had my shift cancelled on Saturday so can make this now, one of my local away games so was gutted I was missing it. Weather forecast isn't exactly filling me with joy about going though!

We've scored in each of the last 4, they've conceded in each of the last 4 so I'll go 2-1 City. Using optimism to distract me from the rain.

Now I know we have bad recruitment, an appalling keeper, dreadful manager, Shipley in midfield with a crocked Kelly, some fancy dans with no end product, loan players who don't care about us and impotent strikers, but we couldn't could we?

Nah!

Spot on !!

Yes, also looks like Bremang will be travelling to accy as hes not squad for under 23s. So Chaplin still injured?
I read on the CT that Chaplin's injury had to be 'treated carefully' (or words to that effect). There was no mention of what the injury is, but apparently it happened in training. Also, no mention of a timescale for his return.

I live six miles from the ground, it’s very foggy and threatening to rain. Perfect conditions for an uncovered away terrace!

Depending if he's fit enough I'd replace Meyler for Bright and push Bayliss into the CAM role. I fear in a game like this against a physical side Bright will be closed down far too easily as shown in the Luton match. It's not likely to be a game where he'll be given much space or time on the ball as if I remember rightly Accrington like to press. Considering he never looks up whilst on the ball he'll be useless in a game like this. (Watch him have a worldie now I've said that)

Zanzala. Think he's been dropped recently as he's been warming their bench for a while now.

Zanzala had a great game that day, a real handful of power and trickery. Seems to be like a few young players at this level they have great days and average days looking at his stats. Certainly one to develop more.

A red card against Bradford put him out the side and he don’t seem to of claimed the spot back for what ever reason with John Coleman bringing in the small, quick and skilful Paul Smyth on loan from QPR late in January. He’s been the man to partner Billy Kee since his arrival.

Place for Shipley rather than the spasmodic Bright?

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head right there.

Today against Accrington I think we need to be more disciplined on and off the ball and workman like than individual brilliance that’s spasmodic.

For me I think the selection choice needs to be between Enobakhare or Bayliss if Bakayoko starts and Hiwula fills the usual spot on the left of the 3 in behind Bakayoko with Meyler partnering Kelly. That said I’d be inclined to drop Hiwula too for Shipley to offer Mason protection if Bakayoko starts

Accrington will work us, close us down quickly and try to bully at times as we’ve seen 3 times in our recent encounters. To have a side of Bayliss, Hiwula and Enobakhare who can all be dispossessed too easily in poor areas could be costly if they are to dwell on the ball too often as we’ve seen regularly in games

We still need flair and ability with the ball to get something out the game but that’s a balance for MR to find and have confidence in his selection’s to do the job. Tricky one to negotiate this

Hiwula is pretty much undropable at the moment with the goals and assists he’s putting him. Bakayoko being up top has given him a lot more time than Chaplin dripping deep.

Yeah I agree to a degree in that and I like Hiwula.

I just feel Accrington will target Brandon Mason a lot and our left hand side of him and Hiwula if our usual midfield pairing of Bayliss and Kelly get overrun and pushed deeper given little time again just like Dion Kelly-Evans was targeted as the weakness in the home game last year I think they will go at Mason hence why I’d offer him help with Shipley who can be more disciplined in and out of possession offering him cover so we can continue with the fullbacks being able to be advanced at times.

We’ve seen too often our flair players go missing and nullified having little time on the ball against a organised hard working Accrington in previous encounters to easily so I’d go more workman like with our right hand side of Sterling and Thomas predominantly being the more productive side as usual.

I’d like to see this for today’s game
-------------Burge-------------
Sterling--Willis--Hyam--Mason
--------Meyler--Kelly(c)-------
-Thomas-Enobakhare-Shipley-
------------Bakayoko----------
