The problem with FFP for us is the unbalanced nature of our squad financially. We have 4 players who account for a third of the total wage bill and only one of those will be gone at end of this season. The others still have one or two more years to go. Had the relations between SISU and ACL not been destroyed by their respective behaviour I am sure they could have worked together and found a way around this short term problem. But all trust is gone and we can just hope sense prevails before its too late.

No witch hunt, NL. He denied saying something - and a BIG something - so people - not just us "usual suspects" have pointed this out to be untrue. No one has thrown abuse at him either but he certainly didn't mind calling me a dickhead the other day.

It seems a little different when Dongo, SBK et al decide to copy and paste something Grendel, SBT or I have written.

I'm sure if I, Grendel or anyone said something similar "I've never stuck up for SISU", etc then we know the reaction of some on here.

A definite smell of hypocrisy in the air on this forum.

That has already been established, as was the fact that the million pound profit included the CCFC rent for that year.

I think it would be more likely that Sisu would pull out.
This would be because they wouldn't except the terms of purchase even if it was 6million. There is no way the higgs trust and counsel will allow it to be purchased by sisu without strict conditions. These are likely mean can not be borrowed against and also would have to stay with ccfc and not how ryton has ended up with Arvo.

There is the problem.

The strict conditions are

Invest in the team to make it competitive
Show a plan to invest in the land
Show a business case that makes CCFC sustainable.

I have an extremely good memory. The post after your pronouncement you would rather the club goes bankrupt was a response from Stupot07 who commented "Wow just wow"

There must be a simple word search somehow to find that conversation.

Correct - but that does not equoate to wanting us to go under. I await the apologies.

Guess I don't need to go searching for that quote.

There is no rich set of investors waiting to take the club off SISU's hands and indeed only one credible bid has ever been placed during their tenure which was soon seen to lack substantial backing. If SISU leave there will be no knight in shining armour and the club would fold as a result. Some people here say that life will go on and the club would fight its way back up the leagues-true, but it would be highly unlikely for the club to ever get close to regaining its former status (League 2 is the highest any phoenix club has reached).

With respect Andy, the two are not the same thing. I do not want us to go under, and I don't believe we will in any case - but the council can force SISU out here if they stick to their guns, so it is to CCFC's benefit that they force the issue.

Non of us actually know what will happen if SISU leave.

We do know what has happened so far under their tenure.

That was included, yes, but they still get revenue from other, more prestigious events held at the RICOH Arena. Wouldn't you expect a charity to be charitable here? If we paid what we sold them for, it would be 6m and we'd own 50% of ACL, Higgs want 10m for that share. It's a minor concession in the big picture.

We need every penny we could scrape together. If ACL have any interest in the club they will accept this.

They should simply give away something that cost them good money? Or at least sell it at a discount to SISU? I wouldn't do that, especially after their behaviour. Sorry, you really haven't my question in the slightest!

EXACTLY right.
The talk of 'no alternative to Sisu' is as per usual stated as fact- with no real knowledge of that market or evidence whatsoever (indeed there is evidence of bids for other clubs like Brum..and let's be clear Sisu wouldnt have bought the club if they didnt see a market). Certainly the city of Coventry would welcome and support a new owner.

I've already answered the question, yes I do think we should have F+B revenues for free, the club needs a helping hand and as I say, if ACL care in the slightest about the club, they'll happily help us out, but they want to sell every right pice by piece then the 'poor old council and charity' myth will be all but broken. They've already offered some of the match day revenues but that simply isn't enough.

How much would you sell the rights for just for CCFC games?

As soon as I seen this, I had a feeling you was on about the 'milk snatcher' (before this post I checked to see where she was from, I didn't know beforehand).

Any see that some Labour Councilliors in Geantham support building Thatcher statue!? What a disgrace. what has happened to Labour?

Does anyone else find it ironic her funeral may be state funded, why don't they privatise that!?

How have I done that here? I said 'ConDem', does that offend you? Deal with it, I just think it's unfortunate that the Lib Dems and Conservative parties make 'ConDem'. Dry your eyes.

I was stating that a quango can be a limited company (which oakey has shied away now) and I don't think councils should be wasting taxpayers' money on the runnings of football clubs, I think that ought to have cross-ideological agreement on here and in fact the rest of Coventry.

There's a lot of 'David Dimbleby's' on here.

Just for CCFC revenue rights!? Are you dizzy blue? (Don't worry I don't actually speak like that, but seriously, are you having a laugh!)

We sold our share for 6m! Which gave up revenue rights from other events not just CCFC f+b rights, CCFC should get 100% f+b rights because no CCFC fans, no CCFC games, no revenues.

If they can't give this up, then it's difficult to see how they're not greedy...

No, nothing to do with the Nanny State.

"There is no such thing as society"

Selling off council houses, anti-union legislation, the poll tax, selling off national industries, general pinochet, pol pot, I could go on.

You know "Broken Britain"? She broke it. She was anti-community, had no compassion and as I said started the selfish "it's all about me" culture that prevails today.

Each to their own though, obviously.

SBT - as I have pointed out previously ACL have offered CCFC their share of the profits of the match day f&b profits from the joint venture IEC for free. Their share is 80% and is valued at around £100k. They have also offered to cross invoice the revenue to CCFC to help their FFP calculations. Fail to see how much extra the club wants. Also under the proposed deal the club would receive 900 car park spaces for free - revenue worth around £150k. So thats £250k for free and help with FFP - hardly the actions of an organisation that doesn't care about the football club.

Selling off council houses, anti-union legislation, the poll tax, selling off national industries - poll tax a mistake but the others (imo) were (and still are) right - it looks as if our political views may be polls apart. I'm not getting into this on a footie forum so as you say each to their own.

As for General Pinochet being matter being "right", during his regime 1,200–3,200 people were killed, up to 80,000 were interned, and up to 30,000 were tortured including women and children. Doesn't seem to be right to me.

I forgot to mention Section 28 too. But yes, we are obviously poles apart.

I gues iff someone else says it then it must be right and I must change my opinion? As someone who has always worked and never claimed and who struggles to meet all of my commitments but do so and legally, I begrudge people being given hand-outs and houses - often because they simply don't want to work for it themselves or have a family they can't afford and expect it to be everyone elses problem. I was brought up that if I wanted something I had to work for it and it's a pity many don't share those values.
