I've been thinking about some form of new start for a good few seasons now.

As far as I'm concerned we are Coventry City Football Club and we therefore can dictate the future. What I mean is, 'where we decide to place our support, therefore gate and merchandise funding, will be the direction of the club'.

Just as long as the name has Coventry within it, and we remain Sky Blue in colour, I'll continue to believe we exist. After all, the city has a history of rebuilding itself.

The fanbase is obviously split over this and we may lose a few (Grendel, Torchy and company) but we may also see a few of the recently departed, and thoroughly disenchanted, return as well. The split may even resemble those Wimbledon fans that moved to the 'clone' of MK Dons. To me Wimbledon remain Wimbledon and they are the true Dons.

So, cards on the table, my priority is to lose the hedge fund and I'd also be happy to walk away from The Ricoh and ACL if necessary. I'd even give up league status if the alternative is a Coventry 'Sky Blue' football club that felt like the one I used to be proud of.

Before anyone shoots the thread down in flames, I am only talking contingency and am not saying this is the way we should go. I am talking only in terms of if CCFC no longer exists and we were liquidated.

Just wondering if it is at least worth while fans trying to draw up some contingency plans and into consultation should we go to the wall.

Not saying that's going to happen here, but think we should at least have some preparation, i.e. at what level could we play, where we could play, would fans back a new club should CCFC no longer exist etc. etc.

Maybe the SBT are already looking into this, I don't know, but I certainly think City fans should at least be looking at an alternative future as a contingency if it all goes belly up.

Sad, but true.

For me, if a Phoenix club emerges we should be:
1) City of Coventry Football Club.
2) Play our home matches in our current away kit
3) Away kit in Sky Blue
4) No single shareholder to hold more than 25% stock. Unless they are ambitious and require majority shareholding in order to take the club forward.
5) Matchday tickets no more than £10.
6) Season ticket no more than £150.
7) Club crest the same as we have now with different wording of course.
8) A start up venue with a capacity at 10,000 desirable but seems almost impossible unless the RIcoh is viable.(Cover some of the seats up. Either at the front or back of the stadium to accommodate 15000). Generate increased demand through improved performance on the pitch.

I know the colour of the kit is to say the least controversial, but this thread is about a new future. One without SISU. Admittedly there needs to be a legacy from the past.
