Because it's a picture I am saying is him

Mate I know you are stupid but people usually called things by names that are related to what they are.

This is why your mum called you "Thickcunt" on your birth certificate.

Looks like Archer is finished

That's Archer, Stone, Fisher, Curran and Mahmood all out with back injuries at the moment. Wood and Robinson out as well.

At some point surely questions have to be asked about the coaching and conditioning work that is done in the England setup.
It's just a recurring theme. Can go back every year on cricket threads on here to see tales of woe about English quicks fitness/injuries.
Past 10 years England cannot keep their fast bowlers fit - rotation and rest etc don't seem to help.
Too often quicks look to have broken into the Test team only to break down physically.
Several legendary quicks inc Holding & Thomson have said fast bowlers need to bowl far more often than the English ones have been doing.
For all the money spent on dedicated coaches and specialists for literally everything you can imagine, they still can't sort this major issue out - it's embarrassing.
Love to see a comparison of fast bowler injuries over last 5-10 years with other Test playing nations because something isn't right.

And archer has hardly bowled

Anderson and Broad seem to have managed

Something is wrong, other countries don't seem to have this many injuries and as you say its not a new thing this season. How often do we have high hopes for someone who is breaking into the team only for them to get a serious injury and never be seen again.

These players are bowling in country games for years with no issue then as soon as they're in the England setup there's problems.

Yet Anderson and Broad, who have been around long enough to pre-date the thousands of coaches and analysts, seem to keep going with no major issues. Sure they get injuries but nothing on the scale we see with the others.

keep wondering about this and maybe as older bowlers they didn't have so much ECB interference when they were youngsters and developing physically. Over quotas all the way up to u19 cricket etc.

Tash Farrant out now for the season with a stress fracture, surely they need to start looking into why this is happening so often.

Huge win for the Bears last night in their opening Blast game, biggest ever win. Sadly Edgbaston was pretty much empty so the reports of slow Blast ticket sales with all the focus being on the Hundred and it being moved to earlier in the season could have something to them.

I watched the start on the stream and when it started raining switched off and forgot about it and got a message through to say Sterling had bashed his way to a hundred. The crowd was 6k so a full house at some grounds

As has been said before WTF they are doing doing the Blast and the Hundred I’ll never know

Sense would be to scrap the hundred and cut the games in the t20 to make it so people want to attend and do it at a time that some of the big stars can play in it after the ipl.

Absolute belter of a Roses T20 that, incredible finish! Wasn't there this time sadly, atmosphere looked great as ever. We should have won really but let Yorks off the hook a few times. Brook continues to look impressive

If the Hundred was a good idea other countries would be copying it by now.
There are three "world" championships - Test, 50 over and T20. England do well in those and crowds increase, income goes up.
Hundred Tv money never going to be big as the "money" options aren't going to pay big if they have to share with freetoview.
They are not attracting big names - timing and money (in world T20 terms ) isn't that great.
Still this nonsense is that T20 is too long yet they continue to play 2 Hundred games which last longer a single T20 game.
Still not convinced that having 8 city franchises appeals to the wider UK sporting public.

The Hundred is just a short term solution to a long term problem, mainly getting eyes on the game, which isn't possible when 99% of matches are on Sky behind a pay wall. There was all this talk of needing to get kids into the game, which they will only do if they can see it regularly (2005 being a case in point), but the deal with Sky runs to 2024 and looks to be extended until 2034 with a smattering of games given to BBC/C4 (ECB and Sky Sports nearing ten-year English cricket rights extension, says report - SportsPro)

It wouldn't make sense to make a rival T20 series so they got "creative", said cricket was still too long for kids, made it more gimmicky with flashier graphics and stuck it on BBC to show they were trying to do something.

It's a self perpetuating argument. Cricket suffering because it is on pay TV yet it's pay TV money that has stopped the game collapsing.

With all it’s spare channels the bbc should show county cricket if the county’s can afford to stream it surely it wouldn’t cost that much to put it on, you don’t need to have fancy hosts and use the bbc commentary from the radio.

Problem is ECB and counties have devalued it so much no-one wants to watch it. 50 over competition going the same way.

I’m going to Edgbaston for the first ever time on Thursday - Any good places to drink nearby? Or best sticking to Brum City Centre

Lords not even sold out on first day - ticket prices might be a cause 70-160 quid!!
Just had a look, hundreds of tickets left in the dark blue areas for tomorrow still. The cheapest you can get is £110 for an adult!

Having a quick look at days 2 and 3, looks like it'll barely be half full at the moment

Depends on where you’re travelling to/from and what you’re looking for. Moseleys only up the road (1-2 miles) from Edgbaston and has got some decent boozers (Prince if wales is worth sticking your head in - don’t be fooled by front bar there’s a big bit out the back). Usually a few from Edgbaston will walk up there after days play especially if traffics bad on an England match day.

Plenty of places in town though if you’re heading back for the train. A fair few bars on Bennett’s hill/Temple St/Colmore Row which are all a few minutes walk from New St Station.

Have a great day !
