Do you want a snickers? ... Better?
I would have had one but it appears a dozen posters on this thread needed them more than me and Nick only brought three packs :guitar2:

To become educated yes, but for someone to ask does Mcsheffrey still play for cov is actually taking the piss.
Shows they show no desire to even read the newspaper, check the website, and see how we have been doing or who plays in the team.

The rest I agree with to a certain extent, apart from 1 person being on the tills, is a complete joke and does not cost much to put another person on this morning to deal with demand.

Where was it said there was just 1 person? That is silly!

Can I just say there might have only been person serving .. But being cash only it was really quick once you got inside .. As they were selling one block you just got given your tickets instead of asking for specific seats.. Never going to please everyone ..

It's easy to mock all this chaos I suppose but the positive thing is that the overwhelming numbers are forcing the hands of the powers to be to sell all the empty seats and with every minute today and tomorrow I'd suggest a few more tickets will be claimed until the vast majority are satisfied.

Another good thing today they opened up at about 8:45 rather than waiting until the 9:30 official opening time .. Bit of common sense for a change

or they could have done all that with 3 people and it would have been 3 times as quick. People are still having to que for 4 hours+ for no good reason

I believe what the other poster is saying is that if they had two or three tills then they wouldnt be any quicker because the staff would be spending more time with each customer trying to sort out which seats were still unallocated.

Two things pissing me off on this thread

Firstly is all the numptys banging on because someone who has never been to a game and don't know about football are getting tickets....Err hello these are the fecking people we need to start coming to every game and become educated. That way we won't have 9,000 - 11,000 in the ground and it becomes very difficult for dimtim to justify his piss pot modular stadium of 10,000 12,000 or 16,000k

Secondly people banging on about how unfair it is that season tickets have been reserved so long....There was 15,000 tickets available in the initial genreal sale...it was difficult on Friday and Saturday and you had to either queue be that online or at the shop but they didn't sell out till Sunday so if you were patient and were prepared to wait on either of those two days you got some.

My guess is some of those now banging on about how unfair it all is are those that sat on there hands going on about how we were all stupid to rush to sort ours out because there would be loads available. The ticket office is ran by retail people who are trying their best under extremely difficult and challenging conditions, they can't do the impossible so rather than blame them why not look at your own actions first and see what you could have done differently.

I've no problem with anyone coming to watch the City. The problem is that there are many that are only ever going to come to these games and cup games against Premier League opposition. Win, lose or draw on Friday, many will still stay away until our triumphant rise to the Premier League.

they could easily have multiple, cash only, don't chose seat tills open. There is no seat allocation issues created there.

In fact quicker still would probably be to have printed all 2000 tickets and hand them out 2 at a time for £20. With 3 people doing that they would have been done in an hour. They wouldn't go on peoples purchase history (not sure if they are with what they are currently doing) but it's not like thats a big deal.

On the Gills website they just posted that there allocation is sold out but you can pay on the night which I can see there end being invaded by CCFC if the case

See you didn't answer my question further up. RE - has this been handled professionally?

Are they? I've got a season-ticket but baffled by the way its all been handled. But when it comes to CCFC nowadays nothing surprises me. Didnt the club realise after last Friday our server couldnt handle the demand and there doing the same tomorrow! ridiclous

The problem is SISU will not invest. The staff at the ticket office are doing a good job with rubbish investment from SISU.

Short sighted view. My Mum has been to 2 games since 1971.

However those 2 games encouraged me and my brother to become regulars.

And many will return like myself. It's the homecoming, that's the big draw. They must have a slight bit of passion in them regarding the city as it's on sky and easier to watch on the box.

To a degree, some in front of me were saying they don't know who plays for us anymore and when a woman said " that baker will be giving his all as usual" my McDonald's coffee was nearly spat out my mouth.

I'll be there against Yeovil, like all the other home games so don't judge me because financially I didn't budget for us returning home. I was at Bradford, MK dons, and had a ticket for Wycombe but had to work. I don't get the point of posters being pissed off with others buying tickets, if only 10% of the fair weather/ cup game people come to the Yeovil game then mission accomplished in my eyes.

Nobody has criticised individuals as the staff up there are doing all they can and should be applauded. It's the club who have shot themselves in the foot and created the mess. I didn't go over the weekend to get tickets as like the majority, I thought there would be plenty to go around.... How wrong I was.

Another 1000 tickets going on sale at 5:30

Good news that block 10 is opened - making them from half 5, allowing those to try and head over after work is a good touch too.. I hope those shop workers can claim overtime!

This common sense approach to running a football club is just starting to catch on..
