Every season we earmark him for moving on/squad player, every season he works his way back in and stakes his claim. Fair fucking play.
Absolutely this.....in my view I'd keep him at the club and only move him on if we ever got promoted. He always contributes one way or another each season and from outside looking in seems a great professional too

Allen's clearly no world beater but he does what he does really well and consistently.
Progressive with the ball, creative, good vision, battles and covers well.
His return to the team is a refreshing change from the robotic midfield play we've experienced.
That's Pretty much what you want from a central midfielder.
When he plays we have a better tempo with the ball.

you can achieve so much in the Championship through hard work and effort levels... and it shows

nothing fancy, just want it more

he's had a great few games and is what we have been missing

I have never really been an Allen fan he always ran around like a lost puppy dog but since he has been in central midfield for the past 3 games he has been pretty damn good, last night he was shithousing and winning headers, haven't missed Sheaf at all so far long may it continue

I wonder whether they are discussing a new contract. I hope so. He does so much work off the ball and it is no surprise that we have looked more cohesive since he has come back. Interesting that despite not being in the team when he arrived, Lampard saw fit to give him the captaincy.

At least when Allen receives the ball it looks like he knows what he wants to do with it, turn and move us forward.

Rather than Sheaf's ponderous dithering. Sheaf is a good DM but not someone you want to play through from the back.

I was not exactly overwhelmed by the decision to extend Allen’s contract

He was instrumental in League 1 but looked lost in the championship

He’s been something of a revelation this season

Essential cog in the team, high work rate, goals assists and excellent coverage all over the pitch

Picked every week and you can see why.
Misread that as Alien Resurrection. Not the only one either🤣

I never imagined that Jamie would be the answer to any question - always had serious doubts about his athleticism and physicality at this level. The last month has shown why I am not on the coaching team. Well done JA and the coaches.
