To be fair he’s worded that as he wanted them to go for Lampard when he was available. Not that he thinks they should go for him now unless I’ve miss read.

Think we’ve got to get used to this, hopefully he’s got a good sized release clause in his contract like the Wednesday boss does

If we don't go up this season, I can see us losing him very swiftly, unfortunately.

Rangers would be a terrible move for him though. On a loser to nothing there.

let's not sell ourselves short, guys. this is a great opportunity for him to really earn his stripes.
he clearly has the backing of the chairman, the players, and the fans. and we are deffo on the ascendancy.

if we don't go up this season i think he'd give it at least until xmas.
if we are there or there abouts at that point he stays. if we're dicking around down the bottom then, yes, maybe he goes.

Any one actually read it? The quote is
“Rangers should have gone for Frank Lampard before he went to Coventry.

“I’ve said this for a while and I think he could’ve been like Steven Gerrard in the way that they come to the club with the hunger to succeed, as I always felt that he was overly criticised for some of the results at his previous jobs, he looks to have found his feet."

I think people are right to say we’ll get a lot of these headlines, but I reckon Lampard will have learnt his lesson from Chelsea. I think he’ll have to get us into the premier league before having any credit in the bank as well. That’s why I guess the relationship works for both parties.

Yea, if it's what I heard on the radio after Rangers beat Fenerbache it was definitely framed in the last tense and I think he actually said that there is no way he'd be leaving now.

I’d be amazed if he went Rangers and I can’t see a Premier league team taking a gamble on him. He still hasn’t shed the general perception of him from the wider footballing community

I agree with this, however, there are more than a few clubs capable of making what would be (rightly or wrongly) a short-sighted appointment.

Not taking anything away from him, but there's a handful of owners I could think of that would hire him based off his name and not what he's actually achieving anyway.

Don't worry, He'll be here next season at the very least. Loads in our favour in that he's already had a few 'bigger' jobs which didn't pan out perfectly for him. I think he knows he needs time and trust to build something rather than skip to the next job. We are a really good fit currently decent squad, a team on the up and out of the mad pressure of the Prem. Somewhere he can really knuckle down and learn the ropes properly and fully restore his reputation. It's also not like he needs money so I don't think big offers will be much of a factor.

Obviously If Chelsea or England come in down the line then he's a gonner but I think he'll see out his contract here by which point there is hope we'd be in the Prem

Can't see it myself. Until Lampard does something at a higher level the top clubs would see it as a gamble. The lower Prem sides wouldn't be a big enough pull to make him leave what he has.

You can see he loves it at our club. He didn't need pushing forward to celebrate our last win. It's difficult for many ex players to go from having the buzz from playing to becoming a nobody. Both our club and Lampard are lucky to have got together at the right time.

If/when we get promoted and we stay up he would be at or near the top of the list of wanted managers. To me it would take a job he really wants. But for now we look like playing in front of a sellout crowd whenever our opponents sell their allocation. We're loud and proud. He keeps mentioning how important we are. He has the players good enough. He doesn't need the money. Most of us could retire on the value of his watch collection alone.

Let's just enjoy him being here while we can. Lampard making us a success is what will make us lose him.

I agree with the notion he will stay here at least till the end of next season and likely at least till some way into the following season, otherwise he gets a reputation as a manager that flits about and stays nowhere very long.

The benefits of stability at least in the medium term is one lesson his last 3 jobs of short duration should have taught him.

I guess the way to look at is, for Lampard to be a viable target for a top team he'll have had to have achieved something like promotion with us. So we'd then be a prem team and ourselves, win win really.

He's not short of a few quid so isn't going to Saudi or even to a basket case club that chucks money at him. We are the perfect fit.

I think he should have learnt his lesson by now and will stick with us until its obvious his time has run out. Why on earth would he want to go to Rangers anyway?

Think we'd batter Rangers if we played them at the moment. Aren't they in quite a bit of financial trouble as well?
