Have to admit the new ground's not a patch on Ninian Park for atmosphere and threat of violence.

Did a couple of seasons half regular in the 1990s, friend used to enjoy going into the Soul Crew's local for reasons I'll never know. Now that was a place to order a pint without opening your mouth and showing you weren't local!
I bet! Which pub was that?
I’ve been to a couple of games this season and used to love going to watch the cov fixture at Ninian Park.

I forget now, it's closed down I think. Right shithole it was.

Also had the joy of being in the train back from our Bristol City cup game with a load of the Spurs hooligans arranging which pub to have their ruck in. Think they took pity on me and accepted my pretence at sleep, but then the sodding police escorted me to the ground! Managed to slip away halfway there at least!

Happy days! Another year when they were trying to throw bricks (?) at us over the wall because they'd got a last minute equaliser (?!?) had to persuade the police not to put me on a coach to Cov, but let me walk in the direction of the bricks and where they were trying to break the wall down. That was another lengthy detour home!

Yesterday I was with my daughter and one of my grand-daughters at Oakwell watching Barnsley get a well-deserved last minute equaliser against WBA. It was an entertaining game made all the more interesting for me as both Luke Thomas and Conor Chaplin each played a full 90 minutes. Both are becoming favourites with the Barnsley fans. Loved seeing the 3,500 noisy Albion fans fall silent and many exit the moment the equaliser went in! On the basis of this game I think we could hold our own in the Championship next season with the recruitment of one or two older heads to reinforce our young side. It seems to be quite a big step up in terms of strength and fitness, but I think we are getting close to having the necessary skills

I remember one year having a load of trouble getting in the cov end cos I went with a couple of Cardiff fans, who parted company with me at the away end. The stewards were insistent that I was a Cardiff fan trying to infiltrate the away end. Not helped by all my ID indicating that I live in Cardiff. I had to put my best cov accent on!
My favourite game there was when we beat them. It was the Eric Black era. Julian Joachim tore them apart. Think we may have had a player sent off too.
