Hello everyone - first time poster.
Despite not actually being a fan of the Sky Blues (I come in peace!), I went to the Watford game with my 12 year old lad. It's a long story, but we visited the Ricoh for the first time on 11th August and were given a quick tour by this guy who i presume was the stadium manager. We were so impressed we decided to come along and watch a game.
I understand your predicament with Sisu. We were not expecting to see demonstrations and it was a real eye-opener. I actually felt part of you all on Saturday, and for 90 minutes, I was a Sky Blue. You have a FANTASTIC stadium (whether you own it or not) but to the casual fan - you have a superb home. It may be out of town, and a typical 'bowl' as some people might say, but I was blown away how impressive the arena was. I know you get attendances half the capacity, but, in better times, you have a Premier League stadium. And, the fact it is right off the M6 made it easier for the likes of me (and potential new supporters) to come along and generate a new generation of supporter. It may not have the character and proximity of Highfield Road, but it is leaps and bounds ahead of many other teams.
On the field, you have a few individuals that, on their day, are potential match winners... but unless you invest in one or two more players (and I mean players with star-quality; realistic targets which show the club means business... Le Fondre being a great example) then I fear this season will be a struggle.
But, in my lad and myself, you have 2 new 'fans' who will hopefully take in one or two more City games before the end of the season. We live in Shropshire, so it's only an hours drive away.
Up the Sky Blues... and good luck for the rest of the season. Thanks for a great day Saturday - you have some great, loyal, passionate fans who deserve better.
