Another bump on a totally dumb philosophy- it’s pretty clear without Gyokeres we are dead certs for the drop. We have to retain him even if it means the end of his contract. Without him I see zero hope of survival
I think you're right G. I don't like to say it but we are very one dimensional at the moment. It's hit it down the line for Gyok to chase and hope for the best. Hopefully when Cal is back we can play a bit more football like last season. Excited to see Palmer and Cal behind Vik

i have no ideas but if we get £4 million it keeps the wolf from the door - selling our premium striker in January hasn’t historically worked well. You stick or twist - I’d stick at all cost as if he keeps performing he’s value will escalate
Not sure we’d get any takers at that price.

A friend from here brought me over the away top, and since then we have lost every game (well got 1 point).

Since then another friend from here brought me the home top.

I put it on at halftime during the Luton game and took the away top off.

Since then we have scored 2 and conceded 0.

It's my new top that has us playing better and i will wear it every game now.
Play-offs or better here we come :)
come on City PUSB.

Really? Foreign clubs can open talks with him about a free transfer in little more than a year from now.

How much do you think we’d get for Hamer?

If he continues performing as a one man battering ram and scoring goals the fee in June would be a bit lower than January but we’d have kept our league status which is worth millions in itself. Would still be a good sum though and thrown in with fees for Hamer and O’Hare gives enough for the owners to take a pound of flesh and let Robins rebuild.

I mean, sure. Given the scale of the rebuild we have to do next summer, I think it would have been prudent to cash in on at least one of those players at peak value and get the work started on that sooner, but the window for that has gone now. I think we’re in a world of trouble with squad turnover next summer, and I’m not sure how we’re going to fund it - maybe by selling all three of our top players as you suggest, instead of just one.

well by your own logic we have to sell all 3 as they’ll all be free agents in 18 months

O’Hare was going to be that big sale but then for the first time with us he got a serious injury right before it happened. As it is we need to persuade Joy to hold off on extracting more flesh until all 3 can go at once.

I think selling all three at once is a terrible idea. Especially if none of them are at peak value. Oh well.

Missed the boat on that for O’Hare and Hamer sadly.

Can see O’Hare going in Jan, and us getting a loan replacement and a RCB in, then Vik and maybe Hamer and Sheaf going in the summer.

Don’t get the impression that the Hyam sale will keep the wolves from the door all season.

I’d hardly say time to breathe, we lose to Wigan and we could be back down there again, it’s so tight

One of many embarrassing threads from August /September 2022.

Same old same old.
Exactly why I posted the thread in the first place, was sick of the groundhog day bed wetting. People not seeing the wood for the trees. Not looking at the fixtures and circumstances and writing off an entire season after a shite hand dealt at the start of the season.

It does feel a lifetime ago though, such a lot has changed and the future looks a lot more rosie. Fingers crossed we can see this home and reach the play-offs
