Simms and BTA are both good championship footballers. I don’t buy this “Simms would rip the division up if he put his mind to it” stuff. That’s the reason he hasn’t. Drive to bust a gut is just as important as ability. I actually think Asante has more potential and always puts it all in. Not to say Simms doesn’t have ability - he’s proven that he can get goals at this level.

Hmmm.Gliding to little effect.

I’m perhaps being a little harsh. Wegerle’s goalscoring record seems pretty reasonable before arriving at Coventry. As seemed the case with a lot of strikers back in the day. Signing for Coventry at one point seemed to be like the kiss of death.

But who needs Cantona when we’ve got Wegerle?
