Andy Turner on Robins and Vivash interview (1 Viewer)

When I first heard about Carsley I thought ohh noooo but he is a young manager with hopefully fresh ideas he hasn't got the bad smell of failure on him like the other 2 mentioned and I am warming to the idea, he obviously knows the young talent out there but whether he knows the championship and lower leagues is a different kettle of fish(strange saying). If Lampard or RVN came I think at the first smell of success they would be off like startled stoats so atm Carsley is my preference not that that means anything so over to our dethroned King

Of all the names mentioned so far Carsley is the only one that really peaks my interest. Clearly a good coach from his under 21 work but that doesn’t automatically make for a good league manager as numerous names in the past have shown. Lampard I’m not excited about at all but that could change depending on who his number 2 is. Keep getting this idea that due to their Chelsea links Vivash might come back as his No.2 and that could get my interest.

The thing that does seem clear to me from all this is that King sacked Robins with no clear plan of what to do next. I get the impression that he’s hoping something falls in his lap that he can present as an upgrade. He needs to improve on the football side of the business and quickly.

Interesting to me is that he says Adi's interview was sanctioned by the club and that King may be confused when he said it wasn't.

So basically one of the first things out of Kings mouth at the fans forum was a lie, makes me wonder how much of it King exaggerated or told his version of the truth.
I imagine the way it works is:

Turner speaks to Press officer and requests an interview with Adi. Press officer says he will look into it.
Press officer speaks to Adi and MR about a) whether Adi is prepared to do it and b) whether MR authorises it and to what extent. I doubt anyone trots up to DK’s office for such a mundane day to day request.
interview granted and Adi understands what he can or cannot talk about based on club policy or what MR has said.

At interview Turner said he was expecting it to be short, but Adi got in full flow and it went on for a considerable time. I would imagine this demonstrates it went beyond what the scope was thought to be. This would probably be the unauthorised aspect, ie. It touched on areas perhaps that MR would not want it to have gone. It wouldn’t matter whether we and Turner think nothing was said that was awful. Eg. If the club line is everything is harmonious with coaching structure etc. and Adi infers that he and MR have a tumultuous relationship then we may have gone into unauthorised territory.

Who would be the atrbiter of whether the interview went into unauthorised territory? I would imagine MR, I really don’t see King getting involved in this, King made it clear MR didn’t want to work with Adi anymore. I really don’t get why so many people attribute everything negative on King and call him a liar. There is nothing to suggest that the version of events he explained regarding this is anything other than what MR told him. MR was Adi’s manager who he reported to.

There really seems little point in continuing with trying to dissect every word looking for the smoking gun to support a narrative of King is at fault for everything. Everyone is human, everyone makes mistakes, everyone can be be a little irrational at times.

We are Coventry City, MR has gone, we move forwards. Yes acknowledge the great times in the past but don’t get fixated on them, looking forward is wayyy more interesting.
