...I sometimes wonder if the demand for drugs from wealthy/creative proffessionals makes drug gang crimes more likely ???

Fund the police and deal with the root causes of this (austerity and underinvestment in social projects)

Yeah because I’m sure if he had a youth club to go to it would never have happened - unbelievable

The victim was Somali, apparently. This all conjecture though, haven't heard anything official.

The police appear to have left the scene and the cordon removed.

That sounds like it may not be as serious as it's being made out.
They'd be combing the area for forensics for at lot longer in case of a shooting I'd imagine.

Edit to say if it wasnt that serious what was with the helicopter?

It was monitoring a bike ride, had nothing to do with Spon End.

One witness is adamant she heard two gunshots. I live extremely close and heard nothing. First I knew was when I saw an ambulance and paramedic car coming down the road. Then a huge crowd of spectators congregated on the bridge over the Sherbourne.

Is that the one just off the Allesley old road by the block of flats opposite the old dyers arms?

Telegraph reporting injuries not life threatening or life changing, at least that's something.

Fucking scum. Hope they get find them and throw away the key. So much wrong here, shooting, the age of the victim, the location they did it. Utter utter scum.

Eh. I mean prohibition unnecessarily hands power to these gangs, but I’d be surprised if a 15 year old is at all high up in the drug trade to be dealing to high end professionals.

Phrasing.

I had to laugh the other day. Little rat who was probably no older than 14, sat in Bournemouth Gardens, surrounded by about 4 or 5 mates.

He was counting loads of £10 notes out of one of them bum bags they wear around their necks. In broad daylight, full view of the public. Zero fucks given.

I sat with one of those sort of bum boys in a maths lesson once. He told me he didn’t need school cos he was gonna sell weed innit.

We sat and worked out his costs and revenue. Based off his figures he stood to earn £4/hr. I told him he’d be better off in McDonalds. Thing is he didn’t accept it cos “the baddest man on the estate deals and he has a wicked car”. I asked why is he still on the estate if he’s doing so well.

What kids don’t see is that the margins are tiny. You’re buying an ounce at £160 then trying sell 1.4g ten bags to scrotes for a profit of £40 and a shit ton of work and risk. If you aren’t growing or dealing in kilos you aren’t making serious cash. Most end up in coke because of that, but fewer customers and more entrenched competition make that hard as well.

You replied with a sensible and understanding manner. You showed him where his calculations were wrong and all was not what it seemed.

If he doesn't want to listen and wants to become a "bad man ting", you've done all you can :(
