There seems to be some confusion about the transfer embargo and the non filing of accounts so I asked the Football League and got the following answers:

When a club is under a transfer embargo it:
a: CANNOT sign free agents as there are still wages and fees involved
b: CAN extend existing contracts
c: CAN sell players

Although we have not filed the accounts there will NOT be any points deduction or league expulsion etc as this only occurs in the event of an insolvency

Hope this helps clear up some things.

Thanks, this is very useful

Now can you contact Mr China and ask him when he is popping in :)

Or contact the CET and suggest they find out info like this and the answers to other questions the fans are asking

Could have sworn someone posted there will be points docked or expulsion if we don't present budget going forward for the season ,which relies on audited accounts being signed off ,but thanks Jan hope this is clarification.

What are missing to lift the embargo?

The council has not crumbled yet. It is been used as a weapon including the movement outwards and speculation about movement outwards of players.

Embargo won't be lifted till they think they have got a deal they are happy with out of council.

I just want this flipping whole saga to end, and end now. Even Doncaster are about to sign quite a few players according to this snippet from SSN.

Dean Saunders claims he is doing everything in his power to convince quality players to play for his newly-relegated Doncaster Rovers. He said: "I can't name names but all I can tell you is that there will be a lot of new faces coming in - and maybe some familiar ones as well."

Sort it out SISU please FFS you :censored:

Whilst im pleased we won't get a points deduction, how does this encourage responsible ownership? Are the FL saying that if in 6 months time we still haven't filed the accounts then that's ok?

Birmingham still haven't filed theirs yet either.

I'm confused by this bit though:

These are not the accounts which will influence the Football League to lift the current transfer embargo on the St Andrew’s club, but an announcement informing investors that the latest deadline for the already overdue financial statement referring to the trading period for the second half of last year would face a further delay.

They seem to think they will have their embargo lifted before filling these accounts.

I think that they need to file their stat accounts for the year to June '11 to get the embargo lifted.

The article is based on the fact that they've delayed releasing an interim statement on the 6 months results to December '11, which as interim (Half year) results are not subject to Football League regulations.

I emailed the FL last night and got the following reply, doesn't say a lot but in the interests of 'transparency' I thought I'd share it...

If we haven't filed accounts in another 6 months I am sure Companies House will dissolve the company.

You would think that the FL would start to raise an eyebrow, having received many recent enquiries regarding Ccfc 's accounts and financial status.

A sudden glut of concerned emails etc, really should trigger some alarm bells, and they should respond by investigating our club, by their own volition.
