Anyone else think that even if we won our last two games (1 Viewer)

and Bristol lost both of theirs, that Pompey would fook everything up, win both theirs and we would go down anyway?

Just how galling would that scenario be?

As a saints fan i can confirm we would force our team to let you win if we are already promoted, to allow you to score as many needed to stay up.

They let WBA win to help send us down otherwise a draw would of been enough and we had to go for the win and lost to UTD at home in the prem.

Pompey could well be the trump card. Even with their points deduction, they've got winnable games and aren't on a bad run at the moment. Mind you, if we'd taken our chances, Pompey would have been a mere irrelevance now.

Then again, Southampton looking for revenge on their arch-rivals? Now what would the Mackems make of that if it kept us up!? ;)

Very difficult to see Brizzle dropping points against Barnsley to be honest-Barnsley are looking in terrible form and should be easy pickings. I see Saturday petering out into a goalless draw and a comfortable defeat at Saints the week after-ever the optimist ;)

Strange things have happened in football....but not this time Otis.

Dust off your A-Z and get the latest sat nav disk ordered. :D

To be honest, for what it's worth, I can see Barnsley getting a point at Bristol.

You remember how difficult they were to break down when we had them up here at the Ricoh? Now they are safe maybe they will do what Peterborough did to us.

No, I do say we are still going down, but wouldn't it be absolutely galling to go down after our winning both games and Bristol losing both theirs?

I would be well pee'd off if that happened.

Michael Appleton would no doubt say 'I think we should have an extra 40 points for coming through that one'.

He would also be hoping that, that would be the green light for the club to overspend wildly on players again next season knowing that any implosion would occur maybe 2 years down the line.

He can then moan again in two years time about how harshly treated they've been after they've been deducted 10 points yet again and just given a severe slap on the wrist, with the authorities feeling sorry for them once again.

We won't hear the end of it regardless of whether they stay up or not. It'll either be 'winning against all the odds' or 'the Football League are to blame'.

Yep.

Isn't akin to a shoplifter complaining when caught for stealing bars of chocolate that all the stuff on display was close to the doors and it was therefore the shops fault for creating the temptation.
