To be honest as much as I would love us to get to.Wembley, I don't think we will. I can't see where the next win is coming from. Unless we park the bus and go for another pen shoot out its just a sky blu tease. Get us all giddy then not turn up when it matters. You would think the law of averages would mean we are due happier times, but we are Coventry City and beelzabubs satanic herd likes to Shit on us.

Played well against Brighton. Okay, it was only their U23's, but there was no hoofball to be seen.

Depending on the draw tomorrow I really fancy our chances.

We didn't get beaten. Brighton beat AFC Wimbledon, Orient and Stevenage. Leicester's Kids beat Sheffield United. Stoke's kids beat Bury and West Ham's beat Northampton.

It wasn't the fact it was Swansea Development that we beat that people are excited, it was the fact it is really close to Wembley compared to when we hammered West Ham's development squad or Brighton's.

I know we didn't get beaten, but we were within 5 minutes of going out. Try reading my posts properly.
Give me a team that has a realistic chance of promotion each year to get back to the "Top Flight" everyday over a one off trip to Wembley with the thought of relegation that is almost certain to happen in 3 months time.

Well that's the thing. This year there is no chance of promotion. Everything is doom and gloom.

This is the one shining little light. However tiny that may be we should embrace it.

Agreed to a certain extent and hope we can get to Wembley and WIN the Cup for the young 'uns. (Highlighted) Who's fault is that then Otis?

I don't think there's anything wrong with embracing any kind of welcome distraction, it doesn't necessarily blind anyone to the mountain of misery that's everywhere else. I've never liked the whole 'shows how far we've fallen' stuff, we've had a constantly updating league table for 17 years that's been doing just that.

When you consider our league form, I'd celebrate winning a coin toss at the moment.

We have been to Wembley twice in our history, both times within three months of each other, so we should embrace anything positive especially web everything is at such a low ebb.
We know who is to blame, but where has blaming got us?

I don't understand the mentality, to be honest, are we suddenly destined to win this trophy just because we've reached the semi-finals? It would only be deemed a 'shining light', in my opinion, if we actually won the competition, and that isn't likely or indeed, it hasn't even happened.

Yes, we as a fan base need some glimmer of hope, but realistically, we have to not throw our emotional expectation on THIS team and THIS competition. It'll only end up crushing you guys if we don't win the competition. Then all we have is a relegation dog fight to focus on...

I hope I'm wrong, and we win it at Wembley, but for me it just doesn't seem likely, considering how weak and ineffectual our squad is.

This is exactly my point; we're not even in the final yet, and fans are pinning their hopes and expectations on this team to actually achieve something.

Guys, I hope you're not disappointed, but I have to stay realistic.

I don't think anyone would begrudge us a day out - apart from Sunderland fans.

Of course it doesn't change anything on or off the pitch (likely relegation), but at least we can have a bit of fun for once.

Personally I don't agree with this, if we win the semifinal then it's job done for me, not that Bothered if we
win the final or not, taking over Wembley with my family and 40.000 SBA will be victory enough for me.

Spot on. Some people are talking as if a lot of us have suddenly forgotten the mire we're in because we've got a chance of getting to a tinpot final.

How could you forget? This just offers the chance of a little relief from the continual drudgery of following City and should be embraced as such.

if we lose its not job done imo. we dont want to be in lower leagues for a long time. lets win this trophy during the few short years(i hope) we compete in it

It's also strangely people who sit from a distance seeming to try and give it the negative stuff.

Or give a reality check! I've already said (Although some are slow on the uptake) I'd rather the owners and manager concentrated 100% on getting us out of this league, in the right direction rather than the way they are taking us at present...*Anyone got a compass they can pass on to them?*

You do realise that people can think different things don't you? That they can he happy if we score a goal or win a game but it doesn't mean they suddenly forget anything else?

I've had 35 years of watching beautiful football, and 15 years of total shite. Guess which one I prefer!

Well yes, but the only people I can see going all out negative in this thread are people who aren't arsed anyway.

I've said it to you time and again Nick. READ my posts properly! I would love the City to get to Wembley and win it for "THE YOUNG 'UNS" I've seen our glory days, and it's not for the wanting to go to Wembley.. I do!... My morals are higher so I will stick to them. Just asking you, and all other posters to respect my opinion, and stance, nothing more.

I think we have delusions of grandeur.

This trophy was designed for League One and Two sides. We ARE a League One side.

Just cos we think we are still a big club doesn't make it so.

I wonder how many other clubs who have been in either League One or Two for 10-15 years or more describe this trophy as tinpot?

No League One or Two club is ever going to win the League Cup or the FA Cup. THIS is the only cup they CAN win.

Let's accept where we are we and stop calling it tinpot. It's only the change of format this season that has made the whole thing a little less desirable, but it's not tinpot.

If we get to Wembley and win it, let's see how many people start calling it tinpot then.

Nobody gives a fucking shit if you are going to Wembley if we make it or not. Nobody gives a fuck about your morals or any of that bollocks. In short. Nobody gives a fuck.

Nobody gives a fuck what I decide to do either, and I won't be begging for respect of my opinions. Because my opinions don't deserve respect just because they are my opinions. I also don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks either.
In short.

Bollocks.
