If anything it could help our clubs return. In the next couple of weeks they might have to find 580k for the CCC court costs, 590k for ACL and their own court costs which will still be mounting with the appeals. This will be the Wilson money gone. They have signed new players that will need paying. The FL will want to see an advance of this new ground if we don't return.
Or will their investors be happy to keep pumping money into something that looks so futile?

The new stadium wouldn't be such a big issue if we were playing in Coventry whilst it happened. We are still at least 3 years away (I would say more realistically at least 5-8 years away) from walking in to a new stadium. How many fans will be lost by then?

Could you expand on this please Rob. Also, I base my view that the new stadium will never happen due to the evidence at hand and my professional experience. WHy are you pushing the new stadium line?

Makes no sense. He went missing after Christmas. His discipline is questionable (definitely gained weight towards the end of the season). If he's on a lower wage he'll be retained. Baker isn't and seemed out of favour.

Agreed although the timescales might be off. If fans really want the club back in Cov sooner rather than later then they need to get ACL & Sisu to discuss. No matter how tempting it might be to pick a side, the only way is to push them all in. If we care about lost fans, even more so. Thing is, we talk a good game...

He looked in good shape a couple of days ago. Was also one of our better players. He is also still a young player who has experience. Much more of a target than Baker.
Pretty sure this Is his last season ,so are they going to let him go for (compensation) next summer?

I wrote a breakdown of all the possible venues we could play at when this whole leaving the Ricoh mess blew up and dismissed Sixfields & the Pirelli Stadium (Burton Albion) out of hand because they were both on the edge of the allowed zone. I assumed that the club would be back in Cov because there would be no chance of getting an alternative venue (and I didn't even consider Nunny which apparently was rejected by the FL due to the flooding issues).
I was wrong. These people have form when it comes to either doing the unexpected or being underestimated by fans. Part of the problem is that there has been such an anti-Sisu echo chamber – especially here at SBT – that people just jump to the conclusion that they will lie, cheat, steal and torture puppies without taking the time to do some decent analysis or at least hold off making blanket statements before they can make a proper judgment.
I'm not trying to defend Sisu in any way shape or form here, I'm just pointing out that it might be worth not saying 'it'll never happen', especially when you look back over the last 20 years of CCFC's inglorious history.
EDIT: I'm not pushing the new stadium line, I'm just being the voice of doom.

No it shouldn't. It also shouldn't be a 70-mile round trip to see 'home' games, we shouldn't be playing in League 1 and people shouldn't be having to go to food banks to get enough to eat. You probably see where I'm going here...

You forgot the FL.
They have their grip firmly on one of the barriers stopping a return. You would think if the club is as serious as they are making out they are for a deal for the return of the club they'd be pressurising the FL to get on with it and not wait until the 7th of August, we do have a home game the following Wednesday remember. It would be nice if it was a home game as apposed to a "home" game.
If the club issued an open letter on their web site (I think they may have a template for one of them) stating that the FL should call an emergency meeting, say, for Monday and make their decision on the outstanding £590K how could the FL refuse?
If this did happen it wouldn't matter if the FL ruled ACL were entitled to £1 or £590K there is no contract between ACL and the FL or Otium. They would have nowhere to go with it.
One barrier gone.
Thats what I'd be doing if I was serious about getting the club home anyway. If i wasn't, I'd sit it out until the 7th of August.

As far as the FL goes I suspect it's a deliberate delay while they seek legal advice. I wouldn't be surprised if lawyers have questioned the proposed payment to ACL. Might be wrong.
On the other hand, to be outwitted like they have been shows that maybe the FL still behaves like a smaller board overseeing amateur football clubs rather than what the football league is today.

so SISU now owe an extra 1/2M to add to the 'pot'. Clearly an appeal to the High court is just silly and again a waste of money (over and above what they have paid for their own council already). Are they goign to really do a deal with ACL who they now owe an even bigger amount of cash too? I can see a return to the Ricoh being less likely.

OSB started a thread yesterday which goes into the logistics of a rent deal in a lot more detail and timescales are part of that. No return for the first game and that's never something I subscribed to in the first place.
My assumption is that the FL have people (lawyers, consultants, a sub-committee, whatever) looking into the issue with a remit to report back to the next FL board meeting and no amount of demands from clubs, stadium operating companies or fans will change that. Forget the idea of being home for the first game.
