It's come around quite quickly this year and usually I'm quite excited but not this year.

I'll be off to Swindon next weekend so I'm sure I'll be back to normal then.

Let's hope for a good season! PUSB!

I have been to 3 friendlies almost got to go to Austria as well, If I go its an expensive day for me mainly because my lad don't have much money and if I go he wants to come, quality time together moaning at the team together, but looking at it coldly its approx £46 for the 2 of us then whatever they decide to rob off us for parking between £5 and £10 BUT having said that I will get to as many games as funds allow if and when I am not out of the country...BTW my lad is 19 he should be paying for me now ha ha some feckin hopes

Swindon fans not happy at the moment, seem to be of the opinion that their squad is way short of being competitive. Guess they'll bring in loans (much like us) next week, but certainly seems to be a good time to play them.

Nailed on defeat then.

I'm not really feeling the love yet. It always seems to be 1 step forward 2 steps back in the last 10 years. Sell out best players to our rivals etc.
That said got my ticket for Swindon and can't wait. It's in the blood can't change it!

The transfer window this year has put me on edge a little bit, and somewhat taken out a bit of the excitement.

I'm really looking forward to it, but i'm a bit unsure on what my involvement will be this year. I wanted to get a season ticket, but was going to wait until we had got more players in that would make me feel that my investment was a sound one. Now that they are stopping the season ticket sales on the opening day of the season, I probably wouldn't have committed by that cut off point.

No doubt I won't get a season ticket, but will still go to every game anyway. I'll end up putting more money into the club that way, which will sail off to the Cayman islands, and then i'll miss out on seeing the playoffs because I won't have season ticket priority.

Wow, keep that to yourself, don't want our few players getting complacent before they play

Or in the pockets of the new signings we all want? Just a thought.

Always excited for a new season and always optimistic.

I think our squad is going to be competitive. Really also hoping for some kids to make the breakthrough this season and be real gems.

Must admit, the excitement of looking forward to the season died a lot in me when we were relegated from the premier league, and has died some more since.
I'm more excited about falling asleep at midnight, instead of 5am... (Jet lag) :)

Looking at our squad and swindons I think we look stronger.....I put this in a thread against all the moaners and funnily enough they never took me up on offer of putting currrent cov xi against swindons xi.....funny that!

Anyhow looking forward to it think we should be able to secure a point away at Swindon we will see cannot wait!

Is it 50 years since we've beaten them or something? Long overdue..

I'd like a win Ferret but would take a draw happily we seem to struggle against them at their patch so a point would be
a decent start.....they do look weak too at moment so it is winnable though!

But... We are in a League where most clubs don't have big budgets and are probably worse off than we are ( I hope ) and we have the same manager as last year... A hint of consistency. Our on the field crisis has been far worse e.g. Transfer embargoes coupled with a points deduction. We will get some loan players ( I hope ) and will go into this league on relatively good terms. No real reason for major doom and gloom. Just accept that we are in League 1. Could actually be worse...

First few games are always a lottery. It's after about five or six games before you get a real feel of where teams are at.

I would settle for a mediocre start and a strong finish.

No team is worse off than us , they own their own ground .

I am undecided.....it could go either way. We still lack a bit of quality in certain positions.

I think we're fucked this year personally. Really hope to be proven wrong but with a week to go before the new season and 2 kids in defence with a soon to be 35 year old who everyone agreed needed a rest last year, a 33 year old striker not able to get in our first team for 2 years is suddenly going to be the saviour, and a manager in the last season of his contract trying to repeat a trick he tried last year then there are some serious rabbits to be pulled from hats to make this a success.
