In the season we went down from the premier league can you recall which two other teams were relegated with us?

No cheating, just have a stab at it...

Yes...and since then look at the contrasting fortunes of the 3 clubs concerned?

Man City title holders.
Bradford in league 2
us in league 1

Man City were at this level too. I know some people hate them, but the way they've gone from that to beating Man Utd is something that makes me smile. I live just outside Manchester and every proper Manc seems to be a city fan. It must feel so nice for them after all those years.

Yeah me too. Don't think I'd have got to Man City for quite a while either. Can't recall playing them in our first season in Div 1 either. Strange.

Didn't they score to make it 3-3 in 89th minute then Lee Hughes scored the winner straight from kick-off.

Seem to remember big Mo scoring. I might have my seasons or games mixed up

Same as that, instantly remembered Bradford but couldn't think of the other!

But then in the annals of my mind something drifted back to me at the end of MOTD Lineker saying something about 3 Citys being relegated.

Too be fair seems a lifetime ago nowadays.

That Man City 4-3 was a cracker.....

David Thompson was a star for us in the first season down....he scored about 14 or 15 from midfield, and pretty much every one of them was a 30 yard show-stopper.

I also seem to remember getting locked in at Maine road for about 40 mins after the final whistle in the first or second season down in the championship......which was a pain in the arse for me as I had to wander around the streets of moss side trying to find where I parked the car in a rush....

Recalled them straight away, I remember the Bradford game, both teams were down, it was a horrible game the players in their infinite wisdom thought they were going to do a lap of appreciation (some had their kids with them) the fans booed Shaw in particular stropped off.

Remembered Man City due to the the 4-3 game at Highfield Road, great game.

Lived in Manchester a few years back for a while. There's more united than city. Urban myth that everyone in Manchester supports city

Worked in Manchester for 5 years. The view in our office was proper Mancuians supported City, United we're for all the immigrants and foreigners (I.e. non Manchester people).

Great banter with the Bradford fans that day...never forget the whole ground singing "Going down going down going down..." ;-)
