Hi all, pardon the intrusion. I'm a football shirt collector with a preference for novel and interesting kits, and every other week I pen a needlessly long article/review about a shirt I've managed to add to the collection. If the title wasn't a dead giveaway already, I'm sure you can guess it now; I've bought Coventry's current home strip, pleased as I am that the sky blue is now finally being given the attention it deserves by a proper brand, rather than by the disinterested Nike (and Puma before them).

If you fancy a read or want a closer look at the shirt before buying one yourself, do please have a look!;

I've blown through 4000 words giving my own perspective, but I'm really curious to learn what actual fans of the club think about this shirt. Happy with the return of the old 90's pattern or is it a bit too much? Displeased with a betting sponsor or apathetic when you're already playing in the SkyBet Football League? And is hummel a step up from Nike, or was I alone in my frustration that they kept dishing out standard off-the-peg shirts that you'd also see on Sunday League teams?

And do let me know if I've made any mistakes in the article; I'm only a neutral football fan, so I don't know Coventry City through and through.

Hummel are great. Kit is OK, not the best this season or last IMO, would’ve preferred the pattern to go all the way around.

Not overjoyed with a betting sponsor but it is what it is in this division until they’re banned.

Always a fan of retro throwbacks though.

I've liked both of our kits, it's great being unique and having a retro feel.

They better design a new one next season though, see if they can create a modern classic instead of borrowing old designs.

I think the CCM shirt is better, but not a better City kit cos it’s not sky blue if that makes sense.

Our third kit (2Tone) last season was unbelievably good in my opinion. Well worth doing an article on (if you haven’t already) and surely a collectors kit for the future.

Wish I had gotten it, but it sold out in no time and exploded in value on the aftermarket once it went out of stock. Deservedly so, I might add.

You kid, but I have another shirt that tried exactly that;

I'm happy with the sky blue, and that it stands out amongst other kits, but I'm not a huge fan of the design. But then again, I didn't like the original inspiration from the 90's. Far too busy for my liking. Agree with other posters that the 2-Tone effort was a work of genius.

Hummel been hit and miss. Two tone one was hideous and the decision to wear it for a home game was infuriating.

They should have gone bluer in the away kit last year as it was far too close to wasps colours.

Interesting you mention that clubs tend to ditch badges based on city/town emblems in favour of more bespoke design and which can be copyrighted.

There was uproar when the club tried to do the same

I can take or leave this year's kit though in no doubt they are better than any puma or nike affair. Of this year's I prefer best the one-off club membership shirt.

Loved the two tone kit and we should have adopted it as our main kit and put the sky blue kit as second

I wonder if they could adapt the two tone kit to sky blue and dark blue (or sky blue and white), though I am aware this isn't what two tone is about!
As regards this season kit - not my favourite, I got the away kit instead, a bit different I suppose. My lad likes his home kit more than the away kit.

I loved last season's Home kit, the basis of that iconic '88 pattern was fantastic.
This season's is passable, a solid 7/10 with the retro fade in it, reminiscent of both '92-'93 and '93 to'94's home shirts; a more complete round-the-back pattern would have been nice, however. Maybe something on the arms, too.

In general, the retro 90's kits deployed by a majority of European clubs have looked really good; aside from the odd one or two that look cobbled together.

As for the betting logos etc, it's a given these days. I will say that Hummel are doing us more proud than any kit manufacturer in recent memory.

Loved all the Hummel kits so far (the goalkeeper ones are a bit bland mind)

Would like them to ditch the gradient fades they have done on the patterns and just commit to a bold design. its been on the last two home kits and just feels like a fad.

Anybody else see a footballer at the top, about to kick a ball. Or am I just mental?

As this season has wore on I've grown less fond of the home kit. It reflects my feelings for Hamer. I associate tthis kit with him and I don't really feel like I actually like Hamer as a cov player. I dunno why. Sorry

Like that two tone blue idea. Worth a try.
