If this is true then SISU are indeed asset-stripping. It could be just paper-talk. If the new board really believe in a new era of communication, then I'm sure they'll either confirm or deny this story tomorrow. Then again I'm not holding my breath!

Hard-up Coventry City are trying to set up deals for their players - and bring in cash as soon as possible.

The new owners of the Sky Blues have made contact with Championship rivals to check out interest in their sellable assets like Ben Turner.

Coventry - facing the drop after a nightmare campaign - would trade their best players as soon as the season is over in a bid to find finance to get them through the summer.

Several of the first team squad will go, with those out of contract likely to leave and their better players being sold to the highest and quickest bidder.

For the 'sake of the F word', its sound like CCFC are having a bargain basement 'Crazy' 50% off sale. Disturbing reading.

Do SISU realise we need at least 11 players?

I think things are set to get worse before they get better. Lets hope that whatever the hell is going on its better than the 3 year plan to get back into the premier which numerous people enjoy a chuckle at at our expense.

I vowed I wouldn't post one of these but

The way the mirror reports they're our "new" owners says to me they don't really know what they're talking about! However, if this IS true then we are in deep, deep trouble. The most frustrating thing is we have no way of knowing. If they come out and say the story's not true will anyone actually believe them?

If true then it is basic asset-stripping - fear the worst. My hope is that it's mere paper talk.

So the point of the article is just to repeat the Mirror's story? No real substance and no quotes in either article. I would be annoyed if true, but seems to me more like troublemaking and scaremongering. I think we've all had a belly full of this over the past few weeks so for now let's just enjoy that we will be still playing. Playing Championship football is an added bonus after what we all thought with doom and gloom a couple of weeks back and we've enjoyed a decent win against Watford. Forget all this rubbish and concentrate on getting behind the only team that counts ... the one on the pitch.

Hopefully they've heard the "Coventry City needed a cash injection to get to the end of the season" and misread it.

Again you are a voice of reason. But I still feel unsure about next season. The players will really need the 12th man on their side.

Well yes, it is just news from the the Mirror.

It is probably paper talk so I have put it on here for people to see and said that the Mirror has reported it?

Lazy journalism at best to dredge it up in a non news week as it says "facing the drop" which we clearly are not. It must have been written last week when the likelyhood was that we could have only been four clear of the bottom three instead of ten. I would be amazed if there was anything in it. Since being injured BT signed a new contract and even SISU know they wouldn't get the best price for someone who hasn't yet proved themself after a lengthy spell out.

I can see your point Rob but all Nick has done is created an article which has got people discussing CCFC and that's what this forum is about.

Thing is last week when 'The Big Story' didn't surface we are arguing if it wasn't in the national papers then we were silly to believe the rumors.
