Rubbish.

Baker should be ashamed of his card. We were 11 against 10. Should have gone on to win.

NO creativity at all. Juke needs someone quick next to him.

Well done to the kids... Biggy and Cyrus the Virus.

Going to be one long hard season. Really need some spark in this team which lacks.

:thinking about:

Bad result, but positives can be taken. Our young players played well. How long before teams start sniffing around them?

Thanks Baker. You deserve your money today

At least they never gave up. We may have lost, but at least we have hope. We got into scoring positions. Yes, we lost, but against the biggest spenders in our division. We were not outplayed and only lost by one.

Hopefully this will show we need a striker that can score. Pull your finger out and sort it out.

Agree with Macca but to be honest we wont be bottom of the league tonight for sure, we wont go down either guys,

We really need a striker and get the we are shit mentality away from us, infact dont even start it

Ok just my thoughts on the game.

Both sides were fairly poor and you can tell it was the first game of the season, difference between the sides was one set piece but apart from that we matched Leicester which isn't saying much tbh.

We were too predictable in our play. This is how each attacking move happens. Tippy tappy football between Keogh, Cranie, Sammy and Gael. Full backs get high up and the ball is passed to the full backs. Full backs then do 1/3 things
1. They pass back to the CB
2. They try to take there man on
3. They pass inside to one of Baker, Bell or Mcsheffery
With scenario 1) this is one step forward 1 step back, I understand if the opposition player is right on top of the full back then they can pass back to the CB but too many times the full back had space today and to many times it was passed back. It is sort of a mentality I don't know what to do here you take the ball and do something.
Scenario 2) Either full back loses the ball or he manages to get a cross in but nobody is in the box
Scenario 3) Baker, Bell or Mcsheffery lose possession.
Too many times we take the safe pass rather than the risky pass.

Another thing are chance creators are not good enough, in this system Baker, Bell and Mcsheffery take the burden to create chances and simply they are not good enough. These are League 1 / low championship players at best. Mcsheffery touched the ball about 10 times and the other two I don't have much to comment on. I thought Mcsheffery played that role well at the end of last season but in 2 times I have seen him this season he has been awfull.

Player ratings
Murphy-7
Christie-6
Cranie-6
Keogh-6
Hussey-6
Clingan-6
Gael-7
Baker-3
Bell-5
Mcsheffery-4
Juke-7

This is not a criticism of Thorn simply the players at his disposal are not good enough.

Leicester are a decent team but if we stay up imo Thorn has done a good job.

Murphy 6 - Didn't have anything to do really, no chance with the goal.

Christie - 8 - Why was he taken off ? Got forward well.
Cranie - 6 - His fault for the goal, other than that he was steady.
Keogh - 5 - Not a centre half, all over the shop positionally.
Hussey - 6 - Okay, got forward well without any end product.

Clingan - 7 - Dished the ball about well.
Birgimania - 8 - Solid debut, didn't give the ball away to be honest and looked to want it all the time.
Bell - 6 - Hit and miss, one minute looks a world beater, the next a pub player.
Baker - 5 - Stupid tackle, still probably wasn't a sending off, was doing okay untill he was dismissed.

Juke - 7 - Held it up well and shown some nice touches, got the better of Mills.
Mcsheffrey - 1 - Fuck off, you're well past it.

I`ll look at the positives, with litle or no money we did quite well but we do do need a couple of strikers. hopefully andy thorn is looking into getting some signed. for a team that is tipped for promotion they didn`t look that good. onwards and upwards city.

The only positive I took away was that both Cyrus and Gael looked decent

I agree cyrus looked very good and our tempo just dropped when he came off, was a bad decision to sub in my opinion. Gael just needs to work on his off the ball positioning.
