Anybody thinking of a takeover knows there's going to be little or no return on any investment anytime soon. What any potntial investor would have to realise its a long haul. Stadium ownership has to be a must, maybe even more important than funds for players. Was watching late kick-off?? tonight and they were saying the ricoh is a hive of activity everyday. Its just finding those investor's. Would'nt want sisu to get there hands on it. i feel quite sure they would just mortgage it, get any money back what they've put in and then fook off. We have to hope hoffman and ransom can find them.

Is it really so hard to find investors for a good football club with very big potential down the line?

Are we not talking about 30m or so? We are not talking the 600 or 700m it would take to buy Man Utd's debt laden club?
No we could never be as big as Utd but there is a lot of talk and disproportionality here...

If they came in and bought the stadium outright from the Council for say 110m and the debt of the club for 30m then the 140m outlay would seem a bargain to me on current world terms in the bigger picture? the stadium alone can make between 5 and 10m profit a year...come on guys think about it.

Then the same company could instantly sell shares in the stadium and for that matter the football club and receive large amounts of that investment back and then some for player funding. (if they needed to)

Like I said is it really so hard? Just a matter of who you know and I suspect Hoffman and co are walking among the b listers and need to up their game considerably and think big. London has the highest concentration of billionaires in the world and we can't find one interested?
You think it's difficult? How then have West Ham proposed to buy the Olympic stadium and pay for it long term? Because it's marketable. They can raise money if they own it without losing the ownership.

We have a boardroom of small businessmen and clowns way out of their depth on this one...and a council without the authority to own such a business with ratepayers money who must be seen to relinquish this asset and recoup the outlay asap.

Last week I was in full support of the Hoff and Ranson coming back to the club - now after thinking about it I am not sure.

The idea of Hoffman being in control as a local Coventry man with his contacts from the banking world and the football experience of Ranson sounds ideal - but after 3 years of Ranson being Chairman - are the club better off?

Now I know that Ranson may have had his hands tied financially by SISU and perhaps SISU could not support Ray's vision for the club but if this was the case and if he felt he was being held back then couldn't him and Hoffman start looking for potential investors months ago before we were staring relagation in the face.

I am not critising Ray or Hoffman - not at all - infact if they did ever return to the club I would support them 110%.

Regards to the new board - I like most supporters are unsure of them - this new Chairman Ken has not really been here long enough for me to have an opinion of him but as he is here - we have no choice but to get behind him and support him. Brody has been communicating with supporters which is a good start and Clouting seems to have done a good job at Derby - we never know they may do a good job. It has been documented that the club were losing massive amounts of money each month and perhaps the new change in direction of the board could be a step in the right direction??

Still can't decide if I am on the Hoffman/Ranson side of the argument or the Ken D/SISU side - all I know is that I want the club to succeed and will support any one currently working at the club as at the end of the day - Chairmen come and go - board members come and go but it is us fans that will still be here after they have all long gone.

You don't need to decide since at the moment there really is no choice and until a firm offer is on the table the only thing we can do to help is to back the current regime. Your last sentence is bang on and what happens upstairs we have no real effect on.
