Yes I am ashamed of all the "we are down posters" on here !!!!!!
I was brought up on relegation escapes.
33 points to play for with twists and turns to come, we have still got a good chance of staying up !!!!
It was worse after xmas when we were bottom and in danger of being cut a drift.
But we are in the mix with a better goal difference than most around us.
So stop your moaning whats done is done and support the team !!!!!!!

Not this again. FFS. :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

We DO support the team. Course we support the team. Have always supported the team and always will support the team. What a utterly daft thing to say. And I have been going up since the 1960's! What's your point? That you know better than others? Don't get it.

You are ashamed that some of us are just realists and are facing facts?

Dear oh dear.

I'll admit we're down when it's mathematically so. I just ignore the pessimists, I think it will go down to the wire, a fair few of our fellow strugglers have got to come to the Ricoh yet and we're finding some steel there.

It's just a shame that in these games, which could be the most exciting and important since we got relegated from the prem, that the fans don't come back and create the atmosphere that on a couple of occasions seems to have pushed the boys on this year.

Yeah, have a go at the fans that aren't coming, not the ones who have season tickets, go every week, fully back the team but simply accept the facts and the likliehood of League One.

Have a go at those fans, not us.

Yes you are right by using the word LIKLEHOOD, because that's all it is at present. But if we cannot pick up one or two away wins, we will not stay up just on our home form.
I reckon it will go down to the wire and there are always some strange results towards the end of the season when some teams are already safe and cannot make the play offs.

You may support the team on match days, but you then come on here and tell everyone that there is no point in suppoorting the team anymore as we are as good as down. I don't see how you can put "not this again"?

Brought up on relegation scraps in the Prem/Division 1 yes. There is plenty to moan about and is rightly justified.

I must have touched a nerve with you Otis to warrent such an aggresive responce.
If you have been supporting the team since the sixties Why such negativity ?
And how long have you had this super power of seeing into the future to say that its a fact that we will be relegated.
Your know better than a WUM spreading your negativity !!!!!!!!

An aggressive reponse because someone is accusing me of not supporting my team and that is something that does anger me somewhat as I have been a season ticket holder for many years, have never booed the team, players or managers and always back the team 100%.

That was what brought the angry response. I am also a rational, reasoned person I believe and I am simply facing facts. We look like we are going down. We keep having must win games , Forest, Leshtur (for some) and Palace and we didn't win them. We have been in the bottom 3 since Ocotber. We can't win away. This points to one thing and one thing only.

Of course I hope I am wrong, but I think it would be equally wrong to ignore the reality and live in some fantasy world where I think we will suddenly conjure up some away win out of thin air.

I have prepared myself for League One as i believe that is the sensible thing to do. Doesn't mean I don't back CCFC 100% though.

And Donny, that is so untrue. I have never mentioned anything to anyone about people no longer supporting their team. Back them100% and expect everyone to do the same. Just want fans to be be realistic though. Otherwise there will be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth ir and when we do go down the plughole.

John its a forum, and people differ in opinion. deal with it. NO ONE WANTS US TO GO DOWN, but some people think we may do.

Just because you think one way doesnt mean we all should. If you feel ashamed then frankly thats up to you, but to slate Otis off as worse than a WUM is bang out of line in my humble opinion just because he differs in opinion.

I too have supported the club as long as you have, but feel negative this season due to the sad state we are in on and off the field, and perhaps that has dulled my optimism. Thats my opinion so please respect it, as I respect yours to differ.

You can think we're as good as relegated whilst still supporting the team, just like you can question the manager whilst still supporting him or the team.

It's unfortunate how often people here simplify things as purely black and white, as if independent thought is a dirty word.

For starters read my post I have not accused you or anyone of not supporting the team, but obviously you want to turn it into that, I don't really care !!!
What I am accusing you and others of is extreme negativity and moaning !!!!!!!
Who made you the spokesperson to tell everyone that we are going to be relegated. You may have prepared yourself for league one and sounds like your already there !!!!!!!!!!!
I don't post much on here any more because every time i look the site has been dragged down by negativity and can't be bothered with it !!!!

We are three points from safety with 33 points to play for in your own head we are mathmatically down don't drag others down with you !!!!!!!

It's an opinion at the end of the day.

As long as the players don't believe we're down then I'm happy to accept that people will differ on their opinion. Personally I still think, although it's looking likely we will go down, that we still have a great chance of staying up - we do need to pick up points vs Bristol and hopefully Watford to, but where I sit we're still only 3 points off.

I'm a hopeless optimist on matters concerning Coventry City FC but it's still very do-able and I still believe we can.

I am not allowed an opinion then? Not allowed to share my thoughts?

This is a football forum. If you don't like a thread you can chose to ignore it can't you?

Please do tell me where the moaning was in my thread? It was constructive, dealt with facts and tried to be calm and rational and well reasoned.

And you did tell me to support my team. That suggests does it not that I am not supporting my team? Sure that's how anyone would read it. You tell someone to do something because they are supposedly not doing something don't you? Or do you tell people to do something even though they are already doing it?:(

For the record everyone is entitled to an oppinion and yes it is a football forum.
Otis I haven't looked at your previous posts but how many of them repeat the same thing and are negative in some way, I would say quite a few ?
Also please point out a fact in your post because all I could see was your oppinions ?

Facts from my post:

'many here were saying the Palace game was a must win.'

'At least 2-3 results went against us last night. '

' We felt before the game that we could well be out of the bottom 3 come the end of the night. We're still there.'

'That's yet another game gone.'

' We still have to play on our travels, Hull, Cardiff, Burnley and Southampton.'

'Our away form is nothing short of a disgrace.' (disgrace may be opinion, but you can't argue the fact that it is dreadful)

'In summary we are still where we were, only another more couple of games have gone by and our away form if anything is getting worse. (the last 3 away games have been 2-0, 2-0, 2-0).'

'A few on here were pointing to how much a superior team of players Leshtur had to us on Saturday and how did we expect anything other than defeat. Yet Bristol City beat them. '

'Bristol's last sequence of results had been 0-3, 1-3, 2-2, 0-3, 0-3 prior to Leshtur.'

'Our performance against Leshtur was unacceptable. As was our performance against Forest. As was so many of our away performances.'

Sure, you can put a positive spin on the fact that we are still just 3 points from saftety, 'but we have been in the bottom 3 since October, have the worst away record in the entire football league, give silly goals away and don't score enough.'

Enough facts for you from my OP?

Sounds like an ex of mine!:slap:

Look, everyone is entitled to their opinion and if their opinion is negative it probably looks like a moan. Mathmatically, we are well in the hunt to escape relegation and I hope we do. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that we are going to struggle based on our form in the last few weeks. I have been following the club since the 60's too and have had many highs and lows as a City fan but this season is the worst I can remember (even including our Prem releagtion season).

Let's hope things pick up for us.

We need that away point to give us belief. Just 1 point away could change our whole outlook. 10 defeats in a row must weigh heavily on the players' minds.

Well that's sad, because I have been one of the most loyal City fans this club has ever had.

not being funny but with last nights performance how can anyone have anything positive to say about the club. It was one of the worst games i have seen in a long while (inc sunday league), we have zero confidence and have not got a clue in the midfield. We made Palace look great last night and they certainly were not. This is why people are posting we are going down because we certainly are!
