So say this was the squad:

Wilson/Young GK to challenge
Fadz/McNally/Panzo/Rose/Young CB to take over from Fadz
New RWB/Burroughs
JWE/Bidwell
Hamer/New CM
Sheaf/Eccles
O’Hare/Palmer/Allen/Howley
Marquee ST signing/Young ST (loan?)/Godden

That’s signing McNally, Panzo, a RWB and a ST for the first team plus JWE on loan. And GK, CB, CM, ST as squad players who can challenge a couple could be loans. I reckon that’s about the minimum you could get away with.

Out: Moore, Dabo, Kane, Reid, Doyle, BNC, Dacosta, Kelly, Walker, Waghorn, Vik, Tavares, Maguire

Perm: McNally, Panzo, GK, CB, RWB, ST
Loan: JWE, CM, ST

Could easily see that costing us £10m in fees. McNally £2m Panzo £1.5m, £2-3M on a ST, £2m on a RWB, and a million or so each on GK, CB, ST.
Rose won’t be here. He wants to play and hasn’t really figured since the turn of the year.
Hamer won’t be here either.

If I was Vik I would sign a new and improved contract as I think he owes us that as he was going no where before joining us.If he has another good season he can leave next summer for probably more money .

Yeah but if you were Vik, Vik would be a City fan.

So if we stay in the championship, non of the loan signings stay, we lose Hamer and Vik. I think we would need;
1xgk
4xcb
1xlwb
2xrwb (1 if Dabo stays)
2xcdm
2xcf (1 if walker stays)

Unless there are some gems ready in the under 21s. I can't see us needing any less.

If we got promoted plus Hamer and Vik sign new contracts. We'd still need pretty much a full squad of players. Realistically I can't see many of the current team being prem ready, outside of Hamer and Vik.

Still I'm hopeful we'll smash Middlesbrough on Monday, and fly through the playoffs. Then the 2 golden boys sign new contracts and we see what magic Robins can weave in the top tier.

I'm not sure Gyokeres owes us anything. He could easily have angled for a move in the January window, and without him we would be nowhere near the play offs. It has been a pleasure watching him scare the life out of Championship defenders, and hopefully he gets to do the same in the PL with us. If not then we can cherish the memories & trust the club to wisely re-invest the huge profit we will make on him.

If we don't go up, I think Vik will go. Hamer possibly also, as he has not signed a new contract and MR is talking about stupid demands from agents that we cannot afford. Strong rumour Panzo will go to Rangers to link up with old Chelsea trainer. We were gazumped with same manager by QPR this season (lucky escape considering injuries to Clark Salter). Can't see Moore leaving until his contract runs out next year. Conflicted about Dabo and Kelly as we need a squad but are both injury prone. Everything you read seems to say Rose is off. This will be the main first window for our new recruitment team. They need to get it right

Try sign the Centre backs

Jwe and BNC back on loan be fine as another year for them to develop further. Look what Ryan Kent and Jacob Murphy have done since left cov for e.g

Would like to see if we could upgrade on Allen and godden/walker but that said with Palmer and o hare fit , Allen would be a good player to come in for injuries or specific games etc. Can also play different positions in midfield. Goddens been alot better last few games in terms of winning headers etc so not desperate to see him go either when think about it

So yeah I guess my answer is I'm pretty happy with squad and if we kept them again it would be fine as many of the youngsters will be even better next year like all the CBS both wingbacks and eccles

I work with a Rangers season ticket holder & they are less than impressed with Kent. Things he's told me are "No end product, no fight, no passion & not a team player." They think he will leave at the end of the season & it doesn't sound like he'll be missed.

I'm sad enough to watch Scottish football(,albeit sportscenr highlights show) and the old firms live. He's overall very good. Europa League final for crying out loud.

Not been as good this year but point stands if we had kept him one more year we would have seen an even better Ryan Kent at city.

If Vik goes I'll wish him well.

He's gave his all to the end and never once give up on the pitch just because he wants to play somewhere else.

I remember Maddison on his loan spell back here once he secured his move to Norwich, and Mifsud once he scored those goals at Man Utd. Vik is a million times more professional than them.
