Club anger over race car pitch damage

I know it's a strain on our pitch having two teams play on it, but at least we don't have stock car racing to contend with!

Unless, of course, the speedway end up moving in there.

Hands down the best entertainment I’ve ever seen at the Ricoh was about 7/8 years ago half time (want to say v sheff W) it was a midweek game and they had the hover craft racing up and down the pitch!

Anyone else remember it?

I don't recall it myself, but it sounds better than the average half time entertainment you find on offer.

Do I recall correctly in thinking we once had some kind of motorsports event at Highfield Road? I feel pretty sure I read that in a book some years ago.

Cowdenbeath has a stock car track around the pitch also but unlike Ballymena the pitch is fenced of from the track with Armco so no issues. I think the racing is also what keeps the club afloat IIRC.
