Atmosphere (1 Viewer)

Was great last night, in the second half it was just noise the whole time and I didn’t hear a peep from a decent boro following until they scored, completely drowned out.

I think finally we have a hardcore of fans that are there to support the team. We used to have people on the players backs after any mistake but now it seems to be encouragement and support. One of the best things about dropping so low and going through the crap times and then winning the cup and getting promotion is that the negative fans have drifted away. Hopefully they return but are now swept up in the positive atmosphere and support for the team.

Yep, even after they scored a 90th minute (you'd think) winner, everyone was singing again.

Enjoyed twist and shout!

Yeah good atmosphere. Seem to remember the Friday night game v Stevenage last season was very good too.

Should be a decent crowd and atmosphere again v Luton in 3 weeks time.

Bit shit we have to wait that long for a home game.

Also noticed leeeee buuurrggeee is going at the home games as well!

Don't mind the Friday night games, just wish it was in August not November

Good singing last night. Even had some songs started from the family corner last night. And some spontaneous singing around blocks 20/21.
Wish to fuck they'd give the "wooooaaaaahhhhh, Lee Burge" thing though.

Have to agree about the atmosphere - but in block 23 we could also hear the Peterborough fans through the game.

Had to laugh as the 3 moaners behind me in block 23, row LL left as soon as Peterborough scored, and, along with many others, missed our equaliser.

The good thing about the Ricoh, and I think this was mentioned by Sunderland fans too, is that the high roofs bounce the sound out so you can get a decent atmosphere without too many people. Many modern grounds don't generate the atmosphere as well. Could be great full up.

The Friday night games do have a good atmosphere but I resent the half day holiday it takes to get there. At least it didn't do London any good playing on a saturday.

Just shows what a spell of success can do. Glad to hear this and long may it continue.

I do like the Friday night games even though I couldn't go to this one - as Nick says, they may be better staged in the warmer months. You wouldn't want a total lack of Saturday home games but the Fridays do seem to have an enjoyable edge that the earlier midweek games lack.

The general gist on extremist social media was that the new ticketing policy in blocks 15/16 were killing the atmosphere. Perhaps not then?

The atmosphere in terms of noise can be up and down as it is always and the ticketing policy didn’t help at the start of the season but generally the noise is good and the crowd is positive. It’s nice to finally be part of a city crowd that just wants to get behind the team and support.

Across the whole 90 minutes it's nowhere near as good as it was in previous seasons. There simply isn't anywhere near as many people in the corner.

As the players got in position for kick off the ref went to his assistants and the noise was so loud he could'nt hear the response from the guy on our side PUSB crowd

I do wonder if the sound carries to the away fans and they leave thinking we're a passionate crowd who get behind the team, because the amount of times I've watched City away and the home fans have such a poor/zero atmosphere is endless.
