Just looking at the attendances for league 1 yesterday and with Sheff Utd playing away, we were easily the highest for the day. Swindon were second with 8,000. Let's hope we can keep it going and everyone will return and some for the next home game. #pusb.

What was our attendance yesterday? Certainly boosted by a couple of thousand disappointed wigan fans, but hope we can maintain a decent number week in week out.

lets hope so....

for any Cov fan that wasn't there yesterday (for whatever reason) you missed a fantastic team performance in an exciting atmosphere.

I realise its just one game and ive been following City too long to get carried away but i do know there were very strong indications this team under TM look the real deal in this league.

Lets really get behind TM and the boys!

The next home game is midweek to crews isn't it?

They will bring 3-400?

True. Do well to get 10k for that game.

If we doing well i think we will get nearer 15k for Saturday matches.

Do well ..maintain that effort and determination .. attendances will slowly rise

Would be disappointing not to get a five figure gate for the Crewe game then, the performance alone would surely mean at least those there yesterday would come back. First time for ages I went home from a home game with a spring in my step.

Can somebody please tell me why people cheer and applaud when the attendance is announced, back in the day nobody really gave a shit what the attendance was it was all about winning the game.

Think the guy next to me had a semi when it was announced, sorry but I'm putting people who stand and cheer the attendance along side people who bring selfie sticks to the game. or maybe I'm just getting old

Probably because a decent attendance funds the future of our clubs existence?....

Yes, "decent attendance funds the future of our clubs existence" but come on, standing up a applauding it as if we had just scored a goal, what next people standing applauding taking a selfie with the scoreboard in the background showing the attendance????

it great that we hand a good gate yesterday, and long may it continue, but cheering a applauding the announcement ?????

I admit I wwouldn't stand for it. But applauding the effort/commitment from fans, and also applause to thank the away fans for travelling and putting their money into our club.

Attendances rise or fall due to results and performance always have always will. Continue performances like yesterday fans will come. Won't rise by thousands but I think 11000 would be achieved easily in time but it will be mainly walk up not Sts

I always feel it sounds like ironic cheering?!

Agreed.

Give the people good football (and wins, of course :) ) and they'll turn up to watch.

Theoretically.

Crewe attendance will dip as Crewe will bring 1500 less than Wigan, some kiddies won't be able to stay up that late and it's a midweek game etc etc.

However, if we can maintain a decent start and make another couple of solid signings, crowds wil increase !

Dont get me wrong it dosent look great with a empty stand behind the goal but what a difference it makes to the atmosphere, The jpt games where its been done had cracking atmospheres and yesterday was great I know people who sat there weren't happy with the closure but giving the team backing like yesterday is only a good thing.

We should all be contacting the club match day experience to get the North Stand covered in City flags .Loads of fans have them. There must be a way to get permission, have them certified and ID on them so ,some not so honest person takes a shine to them.As some dishonest England fans do at away games.
i believe it would be a great advert for the club, and might encourage a stand sponsor to put a big flag on the seats.
whatever happened to the great big one we used to have

Only 9000 there against Crewe I would imagine. Still should be a good atmosphere due to the one stand being full.

I agree, or even the South Stand.

If we crack 10k against Crewe we'd be doing well. It'll be my first game of the season at least, and if we do OK in the next two I can imagine a few who missed Wigan would turn up to compensate for the midweek drop.

Would be great. We could get different groups or local businesses to sponsor/buy one.

Not sure on exact figure but crewe opened the season at home against vale ,a trip down the road and the gate was less than 4000, don't know the vale amount but its an awful gate in my opinion . Forgetting the win and clean sheet , Saturdays performance was a massive plus . For me over 40 odd years ,the battling performances have been what built my passion for the club , ive walked away from games after loosing with my head held high , full of praise and respect and proud to be sky blue .get that back on a game to game bassis and the crowds will get better and better .

And cheering the announcement ,well Id say we are applauding ourselves for turning up after all the shite we have been put threw of late

I just think getting a ticket is too much of a pain, we should have and advertise more pay on the day turnstiles. I know the shop has just opened and not sure it sells tickets match days or not, but there's only one lady on the till Friday there were lengthy queues all day. The queue to pick up on line bought tickets at 2.45 was ridiculous and many must have missed the kick off. I know there's an argument for get there earlier to pick tickets up but fans tend to be last minute merchants.Couldn't there be a "sit anywhere block" for walk ups ?

Dear Club,
We know you read this forum & as you can see from the above, on the rare occasion the thread doesn't descend into the same old CCC v SISU slanging match, the fans come up with some great ideas which will result in an increase in revenue & an improved atmosphere....and best of all, they are simple & cheap/free to implement.....
