Away kit (1 Viewer)

Couple of things I've noticed on this subject.

1) The "blobs" are the ELECTORAL WARDS of Coventry. They're not suburbs, areas or any other term. St Michaels, Sherbourne and Wainbody won't appear in the Royal Mail directory.

2) White would be the most troublesome colour for an away shirt. It's too close to our current Sky Blue to be useful as an alternative. Though I will say that the blue darkens as the players sweat seeps through. A black shirt wouldn't conflict with any home shirts in the Championship (maybe some with the dark blue of WBA). If we couldn't use the sky blue, red would be another clash-free colour.

The frustrating thing for me is the overbearing need by our fans for our away and third kits to be released. Why ? If you had ordered it and it wasn't ready, I'd fully understand the pressure. But it's not, the club dictate the release date, not the fans. We probably won't need them till the end of September (Leeds, Preston then QPR in October). So why the rush ? Just seems to be a selfish need to have them, rather than anything logical.

The club will release both kits when they're ready.

We have worn skyblue against teams that play in white lots before. Man city wear their shirt against Tottenham etc. I'd say we don't actually need a change strip bar shorts and socks.

As you said no rush

I think it's fair for people to want kits to come out as early as possible when they're essentially going to be out of date in less than a year.

Not if next year's kits come out late too

Agree and disagree. That argument could be used for practically everything in life. Something always comes out to replace the current one.

I remember when we used to wear the new kit on the last game of the season. I then had to wait until my birthday in August to get it. Seemed forever.

In some light, our sky blue bleaches out so it could clash with white shirts. Depends on the environment. Think Man City's is a touch darker so the clashes may not be as obvious.

And you're quite correct, we don't NEED a second or third kit. Luton have taken that approach and just reused their entire 23/24 range (I'd assume with new league sponsorship badges).

Concept kit though isn't it. They never look the same.
I'm not sure. It's got the mercury on and the guy is wearing an official ccfc lanyard.

Is there any reason this couldn't be the away/3rd keepers shirt ?

I think it's more pronounced in football than most, £60 or so for a shirt that you won't see played in too much before it's consigned to history. Saying that there's a lot more of an appetite for older kits at the same time so it's not an overly strict time limit either

Can you imagine the meltdown on here if it did? It would be worth it for that alone. Maybe a little easter egg of a burning city skyline in the background for all the WW2 fans.

Know you meant it to be funny but your last sentence set my Snowflake-ometer to max

Sorry, I just don't see the funny side in hundreds of innocents being killed and more being injured.

Does it look all nu metal/emo
Now that would be a winner

They need to go all out and make a god awful GK / 3rd kit. Throw the most jarring, terrible colour combinations together with a pattern to match.

Or find those 'designers' that were let loose with Photoshop in the 00's. Neon abstract patterns like these take me back

They should have done the away kit with the pattern that it seems to be, but in red mainly with the gaps between the areas being white. That would have been a nice nod to the red ribeiro kit from 92/93

Guide shout. Wasn't that mentioned in the recent survey?
It was yeh that was my thinking. However judging from the second video I'm thinking it's a kit teaser. Shame as i couldn't care less about the kits but do care about free football special transport from the pub session to the match 🍻

If they bring them out on the same date each year it doesn’t matter want date that is in terms of its available time to be worn…..

A number of clubs have yet to release the second or third kits.

Leicesters away kit is due to be dropped today ….

I think fans need to adjust their thoughts to the new retail reality. Clothes brands drop new clothes every few weeks ( in some cases days ) because research shows consumers buy more that way. Rather than choose which one they want they buy one, and a few weeks later buy again.

It’s very odd when you think about it.

on one hand fans keep asking for the club to modernise and to be more commercial and then when we do with ticket prices, corp hospitality, shirt release dates, etc etc everyone complains …

Think it's pretty fair to expect your football teams range of kits to be out before the season starts... 3rd kit maybe being the exception... disappointing it's not but it's hardly one to lose sleep over or comment on twatter every day!
