I was told papers signed back in Oct but waiting for something to be finalised by someone who is close to boddy which I sent a PM to Nick asking if he heard anything

Also been told Wasps desperate to finalise deal with Vodafone for 25m over 25 years which seems bonkers but they want the cash urgently to pay off the bond payment...the sticking point being? Yep...no Coventry City playing at the Ricoh

From someone with contacts at wasps

This could all be hearsay and bollocks but it seems something in between is going on behind closed doors imo

I have said it earlier , starve WASPS out ! don't go back and be hostages to a bunch of fannies. Its not worth it for the sake of a few glory hunters on a one night only visit. The place could be ours in 12 months

No chance of Vodafone going for it. I warned them many months ago that if they did do a deal with Wasps, I'd take my custom elsewhere, and tell all my friends and family !!!! Lol ;)

Vodafone aren't going to front £25m for that, laughable

1million a year is quite cheap for a stadium sponsorship in todays inflated market! Just getting RICOH off the stadium to replace with VODOFONE would really give them the advertising they need

Unless you see a premier football team it’s nothing like as lucrative. Also it’s never going to be paid upfront - there’s zero chance it’s that sort of deal

These deals are rarely if ever fully paid up front especially with such a long period

Not to mention 25m doesn't solve the problem when they owe 35m

Not that long ago Vodafone pulled out of a stadium sponsorship of West Ham’s ground for £25M so no way they’re going to cough up £20M for the Ricoh.

A major organisation in my opinion won’t touch wasps. They would be doing all sorts of due diligence on wasps and it would not be worth the risk as the payback would be so minimal even if city were back their.

18/19 we had 27 points after 16 games. This season we’ve got 26 points after 16 games

The games after that at home we drew with Accrington, drew with Peterborough, lost to Luton, then beat Charlton and Southend over Christmas

I’m talking about the style of play which seems to becoming a bit of a myth. It’s certainly not producing any better results than last season

This season we are 3rd. Were we at any one point 3rd last season? League position is all that matters.

The difference this season, is that we’ve won/drew games we would’ve lost last season. We pick up a lot of points from losing positions.

When you factor in our luck with injuries, it’s been a great season so far.

Was in a box yesterday..... loved it and better than the Ricoh box. Love the Roost as well.... met up with a group of Blues fans in there. So all good.... but it’s not Cov. I just don’t want to return to the Ricoh unless we have acquired our own piece of land or as part of a buyout of a share of the Ricoh.

Thing is, we need to look at the bigger picture and the fact is, the longer we stay away the more chance of losing fans there will be.

People will already have been finding other things to do with their Saturdays and there is also a chance of losing a new generation of fans too.

It may only be 'just down the road', but the attendances don't lie and lots of fans stopped going when we moved.

We need to get back to Coventry as a matter of great urgency before too much damage is done.

Didn’t lose fans when we went to Northampton Otis and I don’t think we’ll lose fans playing At Stans.

Of course we want to be playing back at Coventry but not to help those bastard Wasps.

Had a brief chat with Boddy yesterday. No truth to this rumour although that’s not to say we won’t be back this season, which he hopes is the case (and expected to be the case).

The bigger picture is worse than losing fans who are enticed away by something else on Saturdays, ensuring that we are unable to progress to anything other than a Championship/League 1 yo-yo club is a far bigger cause for concern in the long-term.

This has been coming since they were parachuted into the Ricoh though and over the course of the next decades they will see CCFC as a direct competitor for new fans, whether we like it or not.

I think we will, Fergie. People were pissed off last time and will be pissed off again. You can't keep pissing off the fans.

With it all quiet yet again on the new stadium front, people are getting mightily fed up with it all and of course, if we do go back to the Ricoh, how long before it all goes tits up again and again we are looking for yet another ground-share

It's the uncertainty of it all.

I still haven't been to a game yet this season.

We don’t have a ground of our own to play in and have been majorly screwed over by all parties.

This situation has been coming for a while though and was inevitable. Brighton were in a similar position and playing much further away from the city and it didn’t seem to reduce their fanbase.

London Wasps are not going to do us any favours and having us as a successful Championship and even PL side would be a major threat to their long term business strategy of being the city’s main sports club.

As been said if Boddy came out telling everyone the rumours are true then it back fired he would be getting dogs abuse. I am more than happy to wait a couple of weeks and see what happens and, if true, we go back in January and our 30k sell outs with all the stay aways will be a sight to behold.

I just feel people are getting increasingly fed up with it all and we had all the promises last time after Northampton.

It's an unholy mess.

Fair play to you for holding out and not endorsing the move to Birmingham.
Good luck to the others who are enjoying the football/boozers/ nice pitch and all the rest of it.
Only surprising thing is Otis is that you haven’t been called out yet and the vultures are not circulating above as per myself and other posters.
You must be in the clan, one rule for one hey......
