I booed the Doug King song. My reasons are nothing like what you alleged.

I do not believe an owner should have a song. Perhaps if they had won trophies and league titles. Certainly not one that has taken the club backwards in playing quality. I believe the players and Robins deserve my support on match day, not a boardroom member. That is my reason for booing the song, irrespective on King’s actions.

In terms of why I do not believe King is the perfect owner.

King took over a team containing superstars in Hamer, Gyokeres and O’hare, all 3 left the club under his guidance. I do not believe our first 11 is anywhere near the standard of the first 11 that King inherited. As our league performances last season and this season have shown.

I am disappointed that Robins was not provided with an experienced assistant manager after he was stripped of his preferred option. I am disappointed that Robins was not provided with an experienced centre half. I am disappointed Robins has been left with a below par midfield. Yet for some reason you have said he has been backed more than ever before? Really?

Also, I’m surprised to hear such condescending words from a podcast that predicted Burnley to be relegated in a season they comfortably won the title and placed Richie Partridge and Marcus Hall in an all time City 11.

It is funny that you talk of the Sixfields era and our times in the lower leagues, yet you hadn’t heard of Jamie Reckord? Interesting.
Evidently you had very little interest in the club when they needed you most. Which makes your idea of ensuring 10% of away tickets are held for general sale even funnier.

Im unsure why the response to questions towards King is ‘let’s go back to Sixfields then’. Would you tolerate an abusive girlfriend because your ex abused you more? Very bizarre.

You talk of all this ‘progress’ under King and how far ahead we are of other championship teams. Well the league table measures exactly that and it suggests we aren’t ahead of them at all.

Your point regarding Macanthony (who for some reason you see as an oracle) saying King is ruthless. That ruthless we had to wait 6 months to receive a winger we paid a considerable about of money for when we desperately needed him last season. I don’t see any other owners falling for that trick. Perhaps that’s why Macanthony likes him.

Some good points tbf but the side king inherited had very little quality outside of those 3. Half of them were on loan and players like Kelly, Fadz, Dabo, Godden were rapidly reaching their shelf life in this league.

Firstly, thank you for listening. I Appreciate the response. And your reasons and opinions on King are ofcourse valid.

Quoting things that different people have said on the pod and trying to suggest a contradiction is false. There are 6 of us on the pod and we all say different things, have our own experiences, views etc, as we all do.

I went to see us in the lower leagues all the time and remember vividly how painfully frustrating it was, sometimes it felt like it was never going to end, bit it did and that's why I look at where we are and am glad we are in a much better place both on and off the pitch.

As was said, no one is beyond criticism and King isn't too and he has made some mistakes and yes in our view it may be a dissapointment that we didn't strengthen exactly where we thought we should. But that is all it is, a dissapointment. He's not perfect, he's made mistakes but has done a lot of good. And for me it's the most I've enjoyed supporting the club since I first went in 2003.

But tbf i will have to find out who put Marcus Hall in their all time City 11. That certainly wasn't me! I'll be having words.

Thanks again for listening.

Mostly accurate but not the bit about six fields era I'd say personally, and the question of away tickets as we saw on Saturday,if elements of the support showing unreasonable behaviour then that's never going to change is it if no sanction?

Gyokeres, Hamer and O'hare were always going to leave us when the did, that has nothing to do with King, in fact we should be grateful that we got the fee that we did, even people on here would of let them go cheaper.

We also invested in players like Wright, Simms, MvE, Sakamoto , Dovin etc etc which are all of a higher calibre than we've purchased for years.

He's ruthlessly gone after our main targets like EMC even if the only way to get them was to be patient (something fans have too little of) and we've lost out on one or two to bigger clubs like Forrest,
The fact that he refuses to panic buy is to his credit imo.

There's also no doubt that Ryton has had major investment under King, as has the back room staff.

And commercially we've broken season ticket and attendance figures and had the best cup runs for years.

So all in all you'll have to forgive me if I don't jump on your doom and gloom wagon just because we haven't started the season as well as expected!!
