Transfer Rumour Baker (2 Viewers)

MR said 2 are close, and we need 2 out to balance the books. Baker is injured there is no way on earth we would release a fit player to take on an unfit one. If he comes it will be after fitness proved, and that is a way off. So as we look towards January transfer activity Baker doesn’t even register with me.

Didn't Robins say he was going to sign him until he got a silly money offer from India?

Obviously the issue will be fitness if he's had a serious injury and hasn't been playing. Would have no problem with Robins offering to help him out with regaining fitness. Baker could do some coaching in return - he's been taking his badges so thats obviously a route he wants to go down.

Robins can keep an eye on him and if he thinks it worthwhile he can get him registered for us.

I'd do the same if I was an ex player. I'd make sure location was on and make random comments too

What might happen is that Robins allows to Baker to train with the squad or even use the facilities to aid his rehabilitation from injury, potentially with a view to signing him later on?

Watch everyone on here moan to death when he turns out to be as disappointing on his return as he was during his initial stint with us. He had 1 good game in every 10 he played, but you know what they say, you get better the longer you're out of the team!

Baker is exactly what we've missed with Jones and Andreu out.

Goals and assists from midfield.

Get him on a pay per game deal Robins please.

Sounds a bit like the prodigal son and local hero McSheffrey last time he was here.

Robins this week: 'We are very close to signing two players.'

Saturday: Baker and McSheffery both turn up at the Ricoh.
You know it's happening. Don't try and pretend for another minute you motherfuckers.

I think CWR beat us to signing up McSheffery, don't you?

Totally disagree. If you look at his record in the first season in the third division he was in tremendous form. With the ratio you give he only played 4 or 5 good games.

If he's the best we can do, then so be it. Then again, that doesn't say much. If COLIN Baker was the best we could get, I'd take him too.

I'd have Baker back but more so to add depth to the attacking options. He's certainly not the answer to our problems as he wasn't a messiah before and he's now older, with injuries. He could maybe do a job in the Andreu role for the last 20 mins of games but he didn't set the world alight previously and I can't seem him doing it now.

Another body in the squad won't hurt, especially as he won't be on a top wage. Might be good for the youngsters as well.

Yep-fair shout. Old school though, has to be Tom Baker. Couldn't be doing with this Sylvester McCoy and Peter Davidson cobblers.
I do like nearly all the new ones, but previously it was, in order of preference, Tom Baker, then Patrick Troughton, then Jon Pertwee. Didn't take to Davidson, or Colin Baker, or McCoy.

Did then really like Tennant and Matt Smith and at first Peter Capaldi, but in the end he was getting a bit too much into dreary long speeches and it was getting rather dull and tiresome.

Very interested to see which way it will go with Jodie Whittaker at the helm. Could be a breath of fresh air and breathe new life into the series. If not, she will not last at all long.

I don't like Dr Who... used to back in the day William Hartnell Patrick Troughton and those pesky sales Jon pertwee was ok too but couldn't take Tom Baker serious when I seen him naked in Canterbury tales...ohh what a little one

He's confirmed he has been paid off, and he will be ready to play in Jan.

I'll sort it out shall I.

EXCLUSIVE!

This all seems bizarre to me, you'd of thought if you was paid off there would be a clause in his contract he had that if he gets injured and paid off then he cannot play for another club? Or he could earn twice...

All weird or how poorly Indian football is being run and will inevitably collapse in the near future.

What's the nature of his injury and length of time to heal?

It's likely a settlement was negotiated which would suit both sides
CB may have got a smaller amount than if he'd stayed around getting treatment which the club would have had to pay for
Letting him go early would also save on accommodation and living expenses they would have been picking up
When alls said and done he picked up the injury playing for the club so an arrangement like this suits everyone

If you buy out a contract, then you are free to work, managers do it all the time

That is strange, I saw Sylvester McCoy's tadger on stage at the Belgrade Theatre, in a play about a vasectomy clinic
