Yep, agree. Think football shows work best when they don’t take it too seriously. Really can’t be arsed with and hour and half of dissecting tactics.
I'm exactly the same

When I talk about football with someone I can identify a Rotherham United 2008/09 kit and I remember Emerson Boyce who used to play for Wigan, but I couldn't give a fuck about Liverpool's 'double pivot'

It has its place and it will have an audience, but equally there should be a place for dinosaurs like me who still like the 'outdated format' of the old Soccer AM with jokes deemed too risky. As long as the participants are happy why shouldn't we have a soccrette and a platform where we don't have to pretend women's football is as good and discuss beer, betting and football? That has an audience too and often the bill payer I'd guess but we're not catered for.

No TV network in their right mind would ever want to be seen to condone or encourage views that are seen as outdated, that is just the way the world has gone! 'Lads' culture is no more

Might be a market for it on YouTube mind you

Yeah when soccer am kept getting women footballers on and those twins. The fans could kick the ball better.

Sound horrific, most of the people involved are insufferable.

Kids will like it though so whatever, I mean I liked the sky Masters soccer they used to do on ice-rinks.

There was a happy medium between Soccer AM in it's final guise and what is on now tho

The name and structure of Soccer AM could have changed with the output remaining similar and I would have watched it

COVEEBREAK. ☕

The best football progs/ radio shows ever have been:

1. Football Italia (James Richardson GOAT presenter)

2. Danny Baker phone-ins (606 was great under him, unlistenable ever since)

3. Soccer AM (circa 1999/2002) - the background to many a comedown

Yes I am 48, and have no interest in the modern world.
Standing Room Only was quality aswell.
