Banners & Chants at Sixfields (6 Viewers)

We have demonstrate to the "outside world" that, although there are differneces of opinion, our common bond is our support and love of the club; which is also the one thing we have in common with fans of other clubs. Some positive suggestions came out on this thread yesterday. Can some of these be taken further by those that can; and I include the Trust in this. What better way to demonstrate that they are here for all fans than picking up on some of the banner suggestions (the ones that don't apportion blame). Steve, CJ et al - any thoughts?

Why are people writing off the bedsheets idea?

Nothing quite shows a football fans anger and frustration like an odd looking chap holding up a Bedsheet with a message ridden with spelling errors and the last 4 letters crammed into a tiny space.

Those calling for protests there have clearly never attended.. It's that depressing at the place that nobody does anything, signing in support, protesting or whatever. It's a rather surreal experience being there; it's actually hard to believe what is going on is real and you're not watching a pre season friendly.

I hate this idea that the people go enjoy it or are 'pro Sisu', I've yet to meet anybody there who actually wants to be there or have any sympathy for what Sisu have done.

Sounds like the place really needs livening up then, and what better than a few passionate fans who care about their club and it's future, DOING something about it! I think they could really help!! Otherwise, as has already been said, they just give the impression that they're happy with things as they are...it's important too to those of us who's protest is not to go, to know that we are indeed all united!!

Both sides have been calling the other names. As some have said it was those going to Sixfields that started the aggro with the bloke on the hill and every thread has at least one person implying people are ACL plants, stupid, whatever.

It certainly started as mostly Pro-ACL people, but now I'd say it's swung the other way. Most have calmed down from the "scab" days, but there's still a significant minority who see it as their job to throw insults as if it's still happening, often preemptively. No-one comes out of this clean and a lack of judgement from BOTH sides would be greatly appreciated.

True enough I have never called anyone a scab but have had a few things said to me on the Hill, but it's a good job I don't really care what they say names have never bothered me in my position at work I have been called everything.
As for unity we are really as united as we will ever be impossible to get everyone on side.

None of the above but yes we get a few sly remarks and such but have decided not to even acknowledge them.

Just blow our whistles and horns at them that seems to shut them up.

I go to Sixfields because at 70 I wonder if I will ever see my team in my city again. I'd love to see one match targeted with as many peaceful protesters banners and chanting as possible..... especially in the area in front of the 'prawn cocktail' crowd including the dreadful Tim Fisher.

I'm sure you speak for many who do go. It's utterly stupid to suggest attendees are happy with the current arrangement.

My decision to not attend was made easy in truth. I used to go with my daughter and an elder relative. My daughter is now at university and the relative passed away last year. He'd never believe the club has moved away but as a fan may still have wanted to go. It's outrageous to suggest attendees like the situation.

I for one am not suggesting attendees like the situation. What I am saying is that they should make it demonstrably evident that they don't like it. After all you never know somebody like Tim Fisher may actually think he is winning the war of attrition and that one day all city fans will loyally turn up and therefore why then would the club ever return?

Doesn't it say something when a 70 years old gentleman wants to see some action taken against the owners yet the youngsters can't be a**ed. If any Sixfielders at all are against playing at that ground, surely common sense would be telling them to make their feelings felt?....More power to your elbow skybluenormski.

Yes..this is what we want to hear!! A return to the OP. Let's hope his attitude inspires some action. Anyone who's proud of their club should be proud to make a statement loud and clear...c'mon you 'sixfielders'...rise to the opportunity your given everytime you go to Northampton.

So true, the fast majority of fans just sit around and do nothing. Our club is fading away yet so called loyal fans do nothing.
I for one will not go without a fight thus season.
With our club in this situation, we have no future and all Fisher and co are doing is dividing us.
Next season, no football for mr, following the Rugby.

Cheer up mate. For the first time on here we are talking from a (mostly )united front on what we can do at Sixfields to highlight the shite we are putting up with. Could really do with a bit of positivity. Would be interested to know how you are carrying on the fight currently?

Let's hope the sixfields season ticket holders at the game tonight are reminded of what it's like to be part of a proper passionate crowd. Maybe they'll be inspired to do something about it, and take some active passion back to Northampton, regardless of the score tonight.

Last night's WHY/WHEN demo was very moving...even those I watched with, who are not really football fans, felt so. So can this be continued at Sixfields? It's really asking so little for those who attend games in Northampton, to take with them in their bag, that simple question, and hol it up again at given moments. So easy...and it could make such a difference....at every game maybe, home and away even? It's a thought!
