As with all/most of players, he needs a run of 10 - 15 starts before you can judge. See JDS as the most recent example. Although I do think that run might be best served elsewhere as he won’t get it here anytime soon. Ten minutes here and there isn’t doing his development any good.

The new Ponticelli
What's your point???
I don't remember Ponticelli getting a full international cap at 20 years of age, or have i missed something???

To put things into perspective, he's younger than Justin Obikwu who's currently on loan at Grimsby as he's no where near ready for our match day squad.
When you think of that it just shows how many ignorant bell end "fans" are knocking him on here.

Jesus , is Norm the new boo boy now JDS is playing well and Collins looking more assured ?
I just want every player wearing our shirt to play well , yes criticise but don't ostracise
I think we are seeing a few bell ends coming out of the woodwork.

What kind of prick knocks a 20 year old prospect, who's travelled abroad to ply his trade and has already earnt a chance to play at this level in his first season?

Seriously, only a complete c##t would do that.

We have some proper odious c###s among our fan base . Eccles gets pelters , JDS and Collins also .
Norm isnt great yet but nor were Vik , Sheaf , and others early in their sky blue careers .

Cannot believe we've found a striker with a worse first touch than Simms.

Then again, Gyokeres was just as bad...

Collins came off his line and plucked a cross out of the air late on, and the SBA gave him great support, it was good to hear, and hopefully he'll get some confidence from that support and his clean sheet.
He's only conceeded 1 deflected shot in 3 games of football, so good on him. We need him bang on form now.

He's been poor this season but last season showed he can be a decent keeper at this level , and his distribution is brilliant for a championship goalkeeper

He needs a season out on loan next year.

I keep seeing this churned out by his boo boys, but where to? If we get promoted I guess a Championship loan, but there is no chance he would go on loan any level below that. If we don't get promoted do we risk him tearing it up at another Championship club, particularly if we stick with Simms and he continues this season's scoring record? If we loan him out in Europe he will still miss out on English league experience, but if he does well it might encourage him to look for a move back to Europe rather than stay with us.

There is also the glaring ignorance of some failing to recognise that at only aged 20 he can make rapid improvement season on season. It could be that with this season's experience behind him and after the Summer break and a full pre season behind him he comes back the real deal. Of course that will be for FL and his team to decide, and I am happy to go with how they see it at that point. There were plenty on here writing off Gyokores after his initial spell with us, and even those of us that didn't would not have expected the improvement made by him year on year after that.

He will come good. How good? That's yet to be decided. He came with what was perceived a bit of an ego and Lampard started him most games at the start of the spell and tbh he did alright.

The raw ingredients are there, it could take time. I trust the current coaches to get the best out of him and he's deffo been signed for the future.

Nowhere near Championship level, but yeah, loan him to the championship and watch him not develop 👍🏻

What are you lumping in people who think he could do with a loan with boo boys? I think he's has great potential but think he needs game time over the odd 15 mins here or there.

He'd have a lot of takers in the bottom end of the Champ or top end League 1. A 6 month with us pushing for guaranteed game time in the deal would do him a world of good.

I agree with those that think he’ll come good. Tough call about loaning him, which would no doubt do him some good but he’s also exactly the type of player we should have as third or forth striker….young, developing and got enough ability to cause teams problems

Had a poor cameo yesterday but those 10 min spells are never easy. Also showed that simms was probably more effective than many realise during the game. He was a handful/nuisance occupying the CBs again even though it didn’t really fall for him. Anyone seen a replay of the push in the back/potential pen on Simms second half ?

Agreed on the penalty shout, looked clear cut from where I was

I spoke to Collins when he was leaving yesterday as my son wanted to get some pictures with the players, I said to him you've done well to come back Brad, stay strong, he said I thanks I appreciate it, then turned back again and said I really appreciate that

Every little helps 🙂

Fair play mate.

When he came on yesterday I said to my mate he's going to run these ragged.
Cue 10 minutes of him stinking the place out!
I still think theres a player in there

To be fair they played to him like he was Simms. A few times he was looking to be slipped in or into the channel but we didn't play it. He was poor yesterday but managed 6 touches in 16 mins (1 touch every 2min 40 secs) compared to Simms 14 touches in 78 mins (1 touch every 5 mins 35 seconds.)

He was playing against a team with 10 men chasing the game. You'd expect him to get more touches.

There's just no maturity or intelligence about the way he plays. After a stint out the side I expected him to be better.

Let’s not get too carried away with this assumed Collins revival. He has had very very little to do the last few games. Let’s judge him when we face some teams which put us under pressure in front of goal.

Nah let’s judge him on what he’s done rather than setting random bars for him to clear. Goalkeepers spend far more time playing out than shot stopping.
