most of us are commenting about the young lad having a great attitude. You can see in his play he wants to be a winner. It's very early days but if you're going to be negative about him already I find that strange.
If I have taken your comments the wrong way I apologise.
in my experience you can teach people anything if they have the right attitude. which he seems to have.
what you can't do is teach people to give a shit. they either want it or they don't. and this guy seems up for it.
let's not drag him down, hey, guys.

Nonsense. It’s Coventry City tradition to get overly excited about a teenage striker after a five minute cameo. He is part of a long heritage dating back to Andy Ducros!
That’s poor form. Once got an assist for Gary Mac I’ll have you know! 😁

Our fans are bonkers

need to write novels with the imagination they have

Happens in all walks of life. Someone comes in and shows a group up, the group isolates that person. Hopefully it galvanises the team, but we're seeing nowhere near the fitness/effort levels in the first few games so far.

We’ve had top premier league player, cov city legend, better than O Hare, and Vik reincarnated 🤣 he’s played about an hour hasn’t he?

Also he is like Jamie Vardy

What's going on with this guy?

Came in, showed pace, aggression, wasn't afraid to get stuck in and now he's been bombed out yet Simms and Wright are getting game time?

His biggest crime seems to be getting a bit gobby. Not saying he would, but he would have given us a different option yesterday vs the ineffective Simms.

For whatever reason he's on Robins "not to be trusted" list.

Reading through the thread, there are lots of posts talking about him having potential and being raw and that he hasn't done that much, other than run around a lot.

He is seemingly, a player who will always give his all, but he is only 19.

And as others have said, we can't count on him to be our saviour. Not yet anyway.

His time will come I'm sure. We've not long had him and he's still learning.

Robins seems to develop favourites based on personality not necessarily what the team needs.
BTA seems to be flavour of the month now and Bassette the reverse.
But generally Robin's behaviour around Bassette just seems to show his confusion and panic.

Imagine spending 2.5 million on a bloke who's 4th choice stroker and doesn't get a look in

Yet refuse to add loans or an experienced free agent

He was a Doug seeing potential pound signs signing 1000000%
Why isn't Doug insisting on him getting game time to increase his value?

Needs to be used more than Simms right now. We need hungry and aggressive options and they won’t improve his value whilst he sits gaining splinters every game.

I'm absolutely convinced that that is now the mantra for recruitment at our club, will there be a nice resale value?

It will bite us on the arse if it hasn't already.

Do have to ask the question though why isn’t he getting a look in over Simms who looks like he accidentally walked onto the pitch yesterday.

Think this is clearly the recruitment philosophy at the club although we did try for a loan and an experienced player if not wrong.

Wonder why it’s seemingly working for Sunderland atm (maybe it’s having a couple older heads). Either way something has to change soon.

Think it already is tbh

I said a while back on here and got pelters for it, that Doug has been absolutely blinded by Vik and Hamer cash

He thought he could rinse and repeat and get the the promised land whilst completely neglecting the loan system and experience because they don't make him cash

The blokes not got a Scooby on how to run a football club outside of profit and this is now showing

In the summer window I along with many others mentioned Brighton, Brentford model. But to me this summer looked more like Sunderlands from last summer, sign young players with resale value and have a young squad with small experience and lack of midfield depth. Brighton and Brentford signed experienced players as well with the likes of Lallana, Milner, Welbeck, Eriksen, Jansen theres many more but we’re not going anywhere without the experience to guide the youth

He's also neglecting the fact that Vik was initially a loan.

While the pound signs might have driven this signing, he looks very driven and determined. With the right guidance and enough playing time he could do very well.

Won’t get either here

I don't think it's about being a saviour to be honest. It's about having a player on the pitch that is going to give 100% and fight for you.

It shouldn't be much to ask, but we are not seeing it much at the moment. Why he's not getting a look in is bizarre.

What a mess we have as a team . The “ model “ isn’t working & Doug must be blind to not see this pedestrian football being played & us crying out for an experienced play maker , or midfielders in general .
With Robin’s not having a clue , along with his band of merry coaches , we might change places with Blues , unless something changes very quickly .
