Don’t think he’s alone in that to be fair.
He's not, and all the big three have obvious difficiencies, but I can't believe people can't see it in Sheaf, it happens every game.
THANKYOU!!!!!!
Hamer too , but most people are comfortable pointing out hamers faults
Some people form ideas of players in their minds and they’re hard to shake even with evidence. He is very good at regaining possession though, much better than when he started. So at least when he does lose the ball he’s sometimes able to win it back.
It's weird. Got involved in so many arguments on here regarding O'Hare last season but at no point did I, or his other defenders try and argue he was a good finisher!
Sheaf makes some lovely balls , and he breaks up play so well .. he made a 50 yard pass against a team this season that was like wow .. ( and that's where people want to end the conversation )
Don't get me wrong, I really like him, but he has his flaws.
We also have to remember that a ball recovery can be as simple as the opponent passing you the ball by mistake from 20 yards ( just making sure people are aware of that )
Quite simply , the opponent gives the ball away and the first player to receive it or the loose ball will get the recovery
I'd imagine you're referring to the pass to Vik against Luton which was sensational
I do like the lad , I get myself tangled in these discussions and I come off it looking like I hate him , he was hugely frustrating when he first arrived and I wasn't his biggest fan .. I can't say that anymore , I rate him .. but we have to be able to discuss his problems
Btw , I think sheaf is a good player , one of the clubs best players.. let's not let me trying to have a balanced view on him get in the way of that
Nobody seems to have an issue when I say viks finishing let's him down at times
Neil Wood came from a background of Man Utd, Cyrille Regis from a non league background...Not defend at all costs, but come on. One was picked up by Arsenal as a kid then moved to a Championship club. The other at Rochdale before Burton and dropping to L1 before almost being let go when the club got promoted.

He is sometimes inconsistent. His pace is an issue at higher levels and sometimes his decision making is just bizarre. He’s a good player at this level though and an asset

I notice it more, tbh, because if someone like Allen does something shit, it's met with 'that's why he's not Championship level'.ou even see on the match thread, as you say, he does 3 or 4 shit things and it is ignored, then he does a decent pass and 'immense from Sheaf', '9/10 today for Sheaf'. At times this season he has stood out as one of the weaker players and that isn't reflected in that thread, or the ratings one. I even spend some games just watching him for ages to try and work out what I am missing, and I still don't really get it. We saw the same thing with COH and his finishing/final ball. He misses a near on open goal and... 'Yeah, but he feeds the giraffe's at West Midlands Safari Park'. Just more or less anything to deflect away.

As did Stuart Pearce

If our players did no shit things, they'd be playing at a level far above us!
Ian Wright didn't play in the top flight until he was 26.Where were they all aged 24?
Difference with Allen is there’s nothing special to outweigh the bad. Hamer gives the ball away, then scores a screamer or pings a ball onto a pinhead across the pitch. O’Hare misses a sitter then dribbles through three men. Allen runs into another dead end or kills and attack and the best we’ve got is he ran a lot.
Allen has also done that this season. I assume his instructions, for the benefit of the team, are to keep it simple however.or pings a ball onto a pinhead across the pitch

2 goals and an assist in his last 5 matches though .. that's better than he ran alot
Remember the corner challenge thing they did, oh, pre-season the one before this? He was second only to Hamer for his ability to bend the ball in towards goal, too.2 goals and an assist in his last 5 matches though .. that's better than he ran alot
So I need to get this straight
Best pass accuracy in the team is because he passes 5 yards
Played a superb ball to vik for the goal Saturday btw
Does nothing but runs around alot

Spot on. And the assist for Vik wasn’t even in the top five passes the team played that game. It was a fairly basic ball across the box unchallenged. (Which yes to be fair he was because he’d run a lot to a good position).
Why do you think Robins told him he wasn’t needed at the start of last season if he’s one of the best players at the club?

Never said he was one of the clubs best players tbf .. I said he's worthy of his place and his performances have been good .. he's certainly good enough to be a championship squad player no doubt
