Can't even see anything on the Wolves site to see if there was an undisclosed fee.
He's now a league below us but will have had a bit better money for a bit. He was never going to get close to their first team and rarely played for their reserves.
George Thomas will probably be next.

The thing with those 2 is that they didn't go too high.
Maddison went to Norwich and Wilson Bournemouth and then put some graft in for both of those clubs (and Aberdeen).

They were also clearly both more talented and miles ahead of the other two when they were here. I could be wrong, but I see the same in Bayliss as having that extra bit of quality. If he can keep grounded and keep improving I see no reason he cant make it to the very top. The way he glides past players effortlessly is a joy to watch and just needs to find that final killer pass a little more often.

I like Stevenson as a player, shame he's not still here as he'd fit in with our current system imo.

At the time Wolves were pretty much promoted and had players like Neves in central midfield. He was never ever going to get a look-in, the same as Thomas won't at Leicester.

I thought he looked good when he first broke into the team but faded quite quickly afterwards, remember he couldn't get in our team in league 2 which says a lot. Perhaps this is his level.

I liked Stevenson but he always struggled on bad pitches and if games ever became a real battle - a lot like Harries.

I thought he put his foot in quite well, he anticipated things well as well. Lots of midfielders who are continually in 50/50s is because they're slow to react and intercept passes

16/17 season he showed he had a bright future here but in the 17/18 league two season it was clear the desire to be here and fight to get in the side had gone and slipped to 4th choice by December
How much did that Brentford talk in the January do damage to him with his mate Maddison previously earning his move and bid being accepted where as his 12 months later was rejected.
From the outside looking in and his form since he came back that summer for the next few months said he was very unsettled before Wolves took a punt. The cold was the icing on the cake.

Bad career moves for Stevenson and Thomas. Thomas especially shouldn’t have tried to move to a premiership club so early, but, I understand why Stevenson wanted to move.
Even the monetary benefits of their moves won’t be worth it it if they end up leaving before their contract is up.
Young players wanting to develop should look to move to the Championship instead.

Maddison and Wilson moved well because they were offered good chances of team football/loans that would challenge them. Thomas, Stevenson, Harries Bigi all moved to play under 23 football that doesn't develop you as a player.

Stevenson was never going to get a sniff anywhere near the Premier League for Wolves. I doubt he even would have if they failed to get promoted.

I don’t think any of them would have, including Sambou — who was on the bench for Everton U23s against us in preseason. The same guy who left because he didn’t get first team football...
Players like those three need to screw their heads on properly and be a bit realistic.
It wouldn’t surprise if 2-3 of Harries, Stevenson, Thomas and Sambou dropped out of the football league altogether. For someone like Sambou, L2 looks like the ceiling at this rate.
Such a waste of talent, it’s a real shame.

I don't delight in a home grown player's career not going to plan but there is a bit of schadenfreude after the way he left.

Fair enough, if he felt stifled by the lack of chances of first team football. But, players like that should be looking to join somewhere to get first team experience. Same as Thomas, a waste.
Look at Stevenson, 1 year he’s had his pay day for, and that money wouldn’t go very far for someone living that lifestyle. But, he wasn’t getting first team football with us anyway.
Maddison and Wilson (Stevenson for different reasons) aside, all the young players to have left us recently would’ve been better off staying with us. That is a lesson Bayliss should take away — he’s the main man in a L1 team, he’ll earn a good career move at this rate.
