Goalkeeping Stats say other wise and actually Simon Moore has a higher saves per 90 ratio than Ben Wilson. Although Wilson’s save percentage higher.

Save percentage and saves per 90 are pretty meaningless stats.

Post shot xG is much better and the per 90 stats have Wilson about average and Moore as third worst in the league

He also has a higher ratio of massive game changing blunders than Wilson.

Been good in the absence of Simon Moore, must have done a swapsies with Blackpool and took his brother for a season. I think he’s done enough to warrant the contract extension he got, he’ll be a solid back up when we eventually find that quality keeper, but while we dont Im comfortable with him between the sticks.

It's a tricky one with keepers I think, because they could go throughout an entire game without having a single shot to save. So a clean sheet is not necessarily down to the keeper.

Players can miss absolute sitters from a goalkeeping error can't they, so it's quite had to quantify I feel.

Also, then you have to factor in goals that HAVE been down to the keeper too don't you. A keeper could let in 5 goals and not be at fault for any of them and then by the same token, could let in 2 and be responsible for both.

Be interesting to know of those clean sheets, how many were down the defence, the ineptitude of the attackers and how many to the keeper helping keep the team in the game.

Stats can be very useful at times, but are can also be governed by interpretation.

I don't think anyone has said Wilson is a very good keeper have they, but if you looked at that stat above, it would kind of point out that he IS a good keeper wouldn't it.
He's definitely an upgrade on Burge and as it stands better than Moore so hurry up and get Fadz back to get some more clean sheets :) win win

He came here as very much a back-up keeper, was a bit ropey at first and isn’t the best at crosses but since he came in and established being number one he’s improved and played okay most games has his moments but his clean sheet stats are impressive and he’s had a mixed bag of defence in front of him, wether he’s number one or two next season we will have to see as Robins is able to shop in a different market but for now I’m okay with him out of the two we have.

It's fair to say Burge doesn't have the best reputation with us City fans. He did get in the Team of the year in 1st and 2nd Divisions. Can't be as bad as we all think to get voted into 2 teams of the year?

He regularly pulled off some decent saves but there were way too many gaffes.

Confidence issues I think. He had a couple of terrific spells where he looked an excellent keeper, but as soon as he made a mistake they then kept coming and he couldn't pull himself back.

One can only hope Rangers see Wilson’s amount of clean sheets and his save at the weekend and go for him instead of Angus Gunn

Just thought it was worth mentioning, but Marko Marosi (who we all liked) seems to be performing fantastically for Shrewsbury. Wondering if he has now got over that Morrison horror challenge and become the keeper we thought he might be?

Wheeled out the old classic “take 60 seconds to take a goal kick then hoof it out of play” as well. Funny when you’re 1-0 up with ten to go.

Taken 10 years but we've finally got someone who will do it. Streetwise comes to mind.

He was always a good keeper but that injury would have affected anyone. Good to see him doing well anyway.

For me its his positioning thats come on leaps and bounds. Bar the west brom goal, last few games he has been in the right position so when a shot comes in, or a header from a corner, he just catches it as it comes to him.

Remember the Rotherham goals? He was in no mans land

I do feel the majority of his clean sheets are down the defence rather than his ability as a keeper. He had very little to do last night.
